What's New in Version 1.8
- Added native iPad support with hi-res graphics and icons. The game is now universal application, so you don't need to pay again for the iPad version.
- All chapters are now unlocked by default (except finale and bonus levels). You don't need to finish previous chapter to unlock the next one. Play whichever level you want.
- Removed addons selection menu. Addons chapters are placed after the main game chapters.
- Now requires iOS 3.0 or newer.
- Other fixes: Fixed bugs in some of the levels, improved rendering speed.
Very, very underrated
This is a complete game. You pay the money and there's no ads, no pop ups, no annoying updates, just a great, finished game, which barely uses any space on your device. I've had this app for years and the puzzles never get old, because there are so many levels to solve and replay every once in a while. The levels are completely solvable, not too frustrating, and quite the challenge sometimes. My only complaint is the control scheme, but it can't get much better than how it is now. This is the kind of game to belong on a real console for its high quality and simple fun.
The Only Thing it Needs is a Sequel!
So far, this has been the best game I have found for the iPhone. It is only one of a couple of games I didn't get bored of before finishing (although I did have to get help for the most difficult levels). I hope to see a sequel or even more bonus levels added! Since completing this game I have searched the app store for something that looks as compelling, but have yet to find it. I haven't played this game in awhile, but an update for the iPhone 5 screen would be incentive to give it another run through.
No iPhone 5 Display support cripples gameplay
I know I'm late to the party but hey, this is my first time playing Archibald's Adventures... And it's PHENOMENAL! However, the experience is marred because the entire game is scrunched on the newer 4-in display with the screen surrounded by ugly black bars. This becomes especially apparent when reaching the second set of levels where you're introduced to the (extremely floaty) bubble which is virtually impossible to control on the newer, larger displays. And seeing as how this game hasn't been updated since 2010, I wouldn't hold my breath for an update regarding this issue. Perhaps an Archibald's Adventures 2?
