This app is a steaming pile of 0's and 1's. It seems like it was made without the SDK, ported over from some weird other, now defunct OS. Major missing features (that are in almost every other theater app):
1. Can't send purchased ticket to passbook/wallet
2. Can't add purchased movie to your calendar
3. No geo-tagging to bring up ticket when you're in the theater
There are dozens of more missing features or annoying design elements I won't elaborate. Suffice it to say that a theater which claims to be a progressive, alternative chain that focuses on the movie-lovers experience, and is expanding into high-end neighborhoods like Lincoln Park in Chicago, should have the resources and the inclination to make an app that's not a complete embarrassment to their brand.
It's easier to use apps for other theaters that are just as nice, so unless they completely overhaul their app, this is probably the last film I will see in their sparkling new, mostly empty Chicago theater.
Constantly stalls/crashes/doesn't work
I hate to say it, but this is truly one of the worst apps I've ever used, and it's been awful for at least the past year. I've tried to buy tix many times only to have it crash over and over again. I literally just spent 27 minutes trying to buy two tickets. And many times I've approached the ticket taker at the theatre and us the app not load my tickets after many repeated attempts. Very, very frustrating, and not what I expect from a premium price/theatre.
The updated app is worthless it doesn't show the seats you pick in the confirmation, it takes several minutes to bring up the confirmation so it can be scanned. When I pointed it out to Arclight they first denied the problem and only after some Twitter shaming they finally admitted the app was faulty and they were working on it. In the past I have had a great experience with Arclight which is why I'm surprised they would put out a faulty app.
