Formerly a 4-star app, Argus now features full-screen, pop-over ads--they show up just when I'm doing something time-critical (e.g., stopping a timer or taking my pulse rate) and won't go away until I've tapped the "X" 5-10 times. This is completely ruining what had previously been an enjoyable experience.
I'm no freeloader, having paid for both Instant Heart Rate and Sleep Time (and consequently not seeing any benefit from the "integrated" Argus version), so there's no further value to me in upgrading to the Premium edition for $30/year just to get rid of the ads (and I can live with the banner ads--it's the pop-overs that are the problem). I would, however, consider paying one time (not annually!) for an ad-free version without the "premium" features.
Azumio needs to back off on this, or at least change the trigger so that the popovers show up only at non-critical times (such as when first starting the app) and go away when the "X" is tapped (make it a larger target?). Otherwise, the rating scores on the App Store are going start going down as Argus pisses off more and more users.
All-in-One Health Dashboard
Argus has made it easy for me to keep track of my health, and stay motivated to make better choices.
Its fun interface makes it a pleasure to use, which keeps me coming back to enter more health data. I love that the water counter sloshes around as you tilt the phone, and there are multiple entry points, making it practically effortless to track any number of their many available data points.
I use this with MyFitnessPal to track my meals, though there are so many useful features that come with Argus, I'm still finding delightful tools as I explore the app. For example, I recently realized that you can view charts to see trends over time, and even compare them with trends of other data (for example: tracking both workouts and sleep, I can compare over time and see how my sleep improves the more I work out, etc.)
I would love it to be able to sync with more apps - such as SleepCycle, but I really can't say enough good things about this app. I used to drink no water during the day - just coffee and tea. Now, not only am I making better food & exercise choices knowing how good it feels to write that out and see my progress, but I'm actually drinking several glasses of water every day now. This app has made me healthier and is likely adding years to my life, just by being fun to use. Thank you Argus!
Since the latest update, a Google Ads advertisement pops up after measuring heart rate. The ad cannot be dismissed using the X in the upper left corner, even after using the link to view the subject of the ad. Forcing the Argus app to quit and restarting loses the heart rate measurement. If I do nothing when the ad comes up, the flash lights again, as if it is trying to do another measurement. iPhone 6, iOS 9.0
Forgot to mention - I paid for the Instant Heart Rate app, and already had the Sleep Time app. Does my payment for the Instant Heart Rate app apply toward the paid version of the updated Argus app?
