Health telemetry data aggregator with some quirks

Argus pulls together streams and static health telemetry data: steps, weight, heart rate, exercise time, etc and computes caloric burn for the day. Data is displayed in a flowing stream of hexagons as a "feed". It could be understood as a slicker "Apple Health" app.

Three problems emerge: 1) Argus links in a set of partner apps, so if you have a preferred HR meter app, you can use it and then enter the data or use their choice and the data will be loaded automatically. 2) the flowing hexagons in the feed are confusing to read. The calories of an activity are easily misread as associated with a different activity. 3) I encountered a bug where one individual bike ride was somehow loaded and replicated 8 or more times!

Now it has arbitrarily doubled many cycling entries from weeks ago as well as step logs which has doubled my aggregate distances and times. This is a serious bug that the argus developers have had several months to fix but seems to be getting worse. If I weren't using Strava as my primary data source, I would be much more frustrated with an app that has repeatedly corrupted a growing data set that takes significant time to establish.

Overall great app

This app is great for an overview of physical activity throughout the day. I love the weekly averages and data collected by type of activity. However, a few things could be improved. Sometimes argus thinks I'm running while I'm walking. I'll turn off the app, but it will simply start recording a run again when I turn it back on. Nothing I try, short of turning off the app altogether, will pause the run so I can track my steps.

Another addition I would love to see is more variety in types of activities. I do a lot of yoga, and I know for a fact it's more vigorous than the single option provided in argus. There are more than one type of yoga that should be accounted for in fitness apps. I also play a lot of frisbee, and that's not an option altogether.

It would be helpful as well if it were possible to adjust recorded activities such as biking. I forget to stop my ride all the time, and the average speed etc is affected greatly by the added stationary time at the end.

Great walking/running app

I found argus because I wanted a pedometer that would work automatically and it does that pretty well. Occasionally it thinks I'm walking or running when I'm actually in the car, but more so when I've been on subways. It also doesn't understand time zones which can mess up your daily count when traveling.

Overall I like the app and it does motivate me to walk more so I can increase my steps count and reach my daily goal. I also like that it tracks the path you ran via gps and I wish there was a way to turn it on for walking too to track hikes. There is a way to add other activities too so you can keep a record of them and it will estimate the calories you burned.
