Glitches since day one

I have been using Arlo for over a year now. I have both version 1 cams and Pro version. It’s a great system overall. But there are some software and /or firmware issues that really annoy me because they could be fixed and I have written to support and nothing has been done about them.

The biggest annoyance is that when I simply open the app and sign in, one of my cameras starts recording as if it detects motion when there is nothing going on. It records at least 3-5 clips of motion every single time I open the app. Sometimes this happens with one or two other cameras as well. I know there is no motion because it is consistent every time I open the app. It does not happen when I open the viewer in a web browser and watch cams or recordings. Only when I open the Arlo app on my phone. This happened since day one. I have tried reconnecting cameras and base station and nothing helps. It really drains batteries and is annoying to weed through all these useless videos to see if anything happened.

Second major issue is that ever since I upgraded to ios11, when using the Arlo app my phone battery gets super hot and drains 20% in a matter of minutes. Arlo is the only app this happens with. Something about this version of Arlo does not play nice with ios11. Please fix this issue. I never drained phone battery like it does today. I could use it for hours. But now I can only use it for minutes before having to charge my phone. Please fix this!!!

Best Product in it's Category- Just a Small Tweak Needed

After much research, I decided to try the Arlo system - specifically, the Arlo Pro. I absolutely love it, I just have a couple of small issue that hopefully will be resolved with future updates. I sometimes have a little trouble connecting after I have received a motion alert and want to view camera feed. Restarting the app usually takes care of this and I have to consider it could be a signal strength issue with my phone when trying to connect. The ability to speak through the app and Camera is a very nice bonus, there just seems to be a short lag that can make back-and-forth communication slightly difficult.
The only other issue I have experienced periodically is with the camera not picking up motion and missing someone approaching the front of the house. This may possibly be due to user error in the fact there are motion settings I may not have programmed correctly.
Overall, this has been a wonderful system and I would recommend it to anyone. The battery life on the Arlo Pro has been impressive and the picture quality is great. The ability to easily add cameras wherever needed without running wires makes installation and setup incredibly easy for anyone. Great value, easy-to-use and peace of mind.

Good system. Been using for about 18 months.

Long-time reader

After about a year and a half of use, this system, overall, has worked well. We have an Arlo Go, and Arlo cameras at more than one property. There were some occasional temporary glitches throughout the past year and a half. However, there have been no recent glitches (in something like the last 6 months at least). The app is convenient to use. The batteries (non-rechargeable) in the Arlo cameras last us about 5-6 months unless there is heavy usage (a lot of traffic at the camera locations) in which case the batteries seem to last about 2-3 months. The battery (rechargeable) in the Arlo Go seems to last about 6 weeks. This includes some use of the microphone as well as some use of the alarm (in our situation, to scare away unwanted critters). For us, it is very important to have a stable system that can be remotely operated reliably. Although there were some temporary glitches (software updates, maybe, and some other issues which required in-person access to the system), recently (for about the past 6 months or more) the system has been very stable and reliable and we are very happy with the cameras and the service provided. We would definitely recommend buying and using this system.
