Arlo is the worldwide leader in Smart Home Security, and the creator of the world’s first ever 100% wire-free, weatherproof HD security camera.
Arlo cameras make it easy to keep tabs on all the important things in life. With the free Arlo mobile app, it’s easy to tune in wherever you are with just a tap of the finger and get notified whenever something moves or makes a sound.
Arlo and Arlo Pro wire-free cameras can be placed anywhere, even outdoors, while AC-powered Arlo Q and Arlo Q Plus cameras with 2-way audio is great for indoor video monitoring.
Arlo works with IFTTT, SmartThings and Stringify so you can build safer and smarter home.
Geofencing uses GPS. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
What's New in Version 2.3.2
•Fixed duplication of camera devices observed by some customers on the Devices tab
•Addressed the truncated mode/rule screen observed by some Arlo Pro customers
I bought the Arlo kit last week and its cool to have a wire free camera system but couple of things need to be improved on both hardware and software. The issues I have with it is the battery life on the camera I had fully charge the battery on Monday and Friday the battery percentage is down to 55 in less than a week. I wish that the battery icon would show the percentage on the display screen without having to go into the tool bar to see the percentage of the battery life. Third thing I notice when viewing the camera in the day time you have to adjust the brightness to dim and at night the dimness to bright, just wish it was automatic where that is concern. Software needs improving tremendously especially paying for a pretty penny for this device. The Arlo Pro should have an outdoor charging solar mechanism like the Ring camera device, just a thought. And there should be a way to stop notification from going to the email. If those requirements are done then I would most definitely give a 5 plus star but for now the ratings stands.
New system, 3 weeks
Shopped hard to buy system from local provider but could not make it happen. Found Arlo system online and it offered exactly what I was looking for.
Had terrible experience with Netgear support who could not identify why my base station would not initialize, causing me to make an unnecessary 3 hour round trip to exchange a unit that turned out to not be defective. Of course this was after waiting on hold for 45 minutes to get someone that I could barely understand. My local ISP figured out the problem in 20 minutes and fixed it.
As for the system, I am very impressed with its simplicity and functionality. So far so good. Plan to purchase a couple more cameras and devise some creative camouflage.
A product that really works and is easy to set up. First rate instructions on paper then thru the app. We have 4 of the original Arlos and have tried one of Arlo Pro and one Arlo Q. The originals are super; I activate then around the exterior if the house when we're away and at night - no problems at all. Arlo Q (the one you plug in) works perfectly fine also, but it's too much trouble to run power to where we might put it outside. The Arlo Pro: not so much - twice when temperatures outside went below freezing the re-chargeable battery seemed to lose power in 48 hours, quit working and had to be recharged. So we don't recommend the rechargeable in cold weather.
