Process still pretty kludge compared to Uber/Lyft

The big issue in my mind with Arro is that they don’t own/control the hardware in the cab. I’ve used this app for a few months to just pay for cabs when traveling for business - it’s handy to get an emailed receipt.

Issue #1: a handful of drivers don’t understand how the system works. What usually happens is you have to swipe at the end of the ride. What happened recently was that driver somehow charged me for going ten feet. Basically hit ‘end ride’ right after the start ride alert.

Which leads me to issue #2: if you are used to the very quick response and fairly friendly customer service from Lyft/Uber, it won’t happen here. FIVE days to get a reply to my billing dispute. Then told that they can’t credit my account for the drivers error because the machine in the cab is owned by a different company. My only recourse is contacting the other company or going through the credit card company (plan to let Amex handle it).

While Arro was a decent way to pay for a cab, it’s still hobbled by the dinosaur taxi commission infrastructure who seem to have a perverse need to drive customers to Lyft/Uber at any cost.

So, I’m off to look for a better option.

Doesn’t send receipts as attachment like other apps

As far as I can tell this app works as it should, although it’s had issues locating my pickup location correctly. Unlike the Curb app, this app emails you a receipt (as an email) but if you need a PDF or other type of attachment for business expenses, your stuck creating that yourself. Curb emails you and includes the receipt as a PDF. This app allows you to update your email address in the app. Curb requires you email customer service. Otherwise to me hey are the same.

Horrible app and horrible drivers

Customer service never gets back to you if you have an issue with a driver, and these drivers are really trash. They will go all out to make you feel terrible and then THEY HAVE THE AUDACITY to tell you how much you have to tip them. If servers in a restaurant don't even expect 30% of their check, why should a driver? Never using this app again or a taxicab for that matter. You are better off using Uber or Lyft where, although those drivers sometimes have issues too, they have to treat you with more respect.
