ASCD for iPad
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
This ASCD app allows customers who purchase e-books from our ASCD Store to easily access those purchased files on their iPad and place them in the e-reader of their choice. ASCD members can also use the app to access their member-benefit publications – Educational Leadership, Education Update and Policy Priorities. For those who are Premium Online or Select Online members, the device will also synch their electronic books automatically as part of the app. Similarly, the app will synch the issues of Educational Leadership for subscribers who receive the journal, but also want to read it in an e-reader format.
If you are a non-member, non-subscriber or haven’t purchased an e-book, ASCD is providing a free excerpt of How to Create a Culture of Achievement in Your School and Classroom by Nancy Frey, Douglas Fisher and Iam Pumpian, as well as free electronic versions of one recent Educational Leadership, Education Update and Policy Priorities -- just for downloading the app.

+ Bug Fixes
Please update the app.
I appreciate that ASCD provided electronic memberships and resources; however, the app has not proved very useful. The EL journals are not available on the app at the same time that they are posted online throught the full ASCD website. Additionally, it would be helpful if the El journals could be downloaded as PDFs, so I can annotate as I read the articles (like we have the option to do with our ebooks). Without this provision, I will unfortunately return to the traditional membership.
Dinosaur Age App
I've received the ASCD maGazine and updates through mail and wanted to try the e-subscription for the first time, trying out the app. All I can say is that I am disappointed. When downloading the magazine into your iPad, and opening it through iBook, there is all text, missing the great photographs and info graphics. I hope they can update this soon, if not I will have to buy the print version.
I went to this app replacing my print subscription. Big mistake! The app does not open all of the time, frequently crashes, always requires a password - even when switching b/n apps, and lacks quality of print publications as other reviewers noted. I feel like I missed out on a year of the ascd material because this app is so unreliable and the quality of the read is so poor.
