Description
The ASCVD Risk Estimator is published jointly by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Heart Association (AHA) to help health care providers and patients estimate 10-year and lifetime risks for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) using the Pooled Cohort Equations and lifetime risk prediction tools. This app is intended as a companion tool to the 2013 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Assessment of Cardiovascular Risk and the 2013 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Treatment of Blood Cholesterol to Reduce Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Risk in Adults.
The ASCVD Risk Estimator provides easy access to recommendations specific to calculated risk estimates. Additionally, the app includes readily accessible guideline reference information for both providers and patients related to therapy, monitoring, and lifestyle.

Update App
I love the content of the app (5/5 stars for that) and used to use it all of the time for my patients. Now, the app has been having more glitches and has become very cumbersome to use in clinic (hence the 3/5 rating). I'm not sure if that is because a software update needs to happen to make it more compatible with the current version of the iPhone or if it is because I'm using the "plus sized" iPhone and it wasn't configured to for the screen as easily. Either way, something needs to be fixed!!!
A few bugs.
It is easy to use but needs a reset button. I am a physician and I use this as a guide for patient care. It takes much longer to use after the first calculation has been done due to needing to actually erase each field. Somehow it resets itself overnight but not during the workday.
Needs improvement
Would be great to have refresh button, so that after using it one 1 patient, one can clear input fields, and re-use app with another patient.
Currently, this is not an option and makes use if the app cumbersome and time consuming.
Please look into this.
