"The" Best Game on my ipod
This game worked perfectly fine for me and has never crashed (which has caused a majority of bad reviews). Its a great game and I honestly think this is the best game on my ipod. Pros: -Wonderful graphics (for the ipod - some people fail to realize how good it is for this type of device) -Many different cars to choose from (street, luxury, motorcycles) and popular fun cars like bmws, 350Z, supras *i think*, and much more -Moderate customizations to your car (color, wheels, engine, air intake, weight mods, transmission, shocks, etc) -Excellent control of your car (depending on the mode you choose) -Take out your enemies, just the like the popular Burnout series -cop chases -Travel around the world, interesting environments -drifting while racing -Occassional helicopter news report viewing angle -Great selection of arcade-like game modes (racing, elimination, cop chase, cash attack, etc) - entertains you until your batteries die out - The challenging level sometimes feels low to moderate, but its ok because the game will last you a while and it has lasting appeal - I bought it for 9.99 and I still think its worth it, buy it now while its cheap! Cons: -The girls in the game are nearly pointless -Wish there were more color customization, instead of the ones they give you -The Tilting control mode didn't work too well for me - The cop sirens in Police Chase Mode is annoying CONCLUSION: If you like racing games, you will love this game!
REBOOT iPHONE 2 AVOID CRASHES!!!
It's so frustrating to see people justify giving a low rate to an amazing game when they can just reboot their phones after downloading/updating an app. YES!! After downloading/updating ANY app, REBOOT REBOOT REBOOT REBOOT That said, this game is by far the best game out there. There's not one thing I don't like. The cars are gorgeous; I just wish/hope the game will offer more cars in the future. Yes- more sexy, exotic, and even faster cars please! -Lamborghinis (Miura, Diablo, Countach, LP640) -Maserati GTS -RUF CTR3 -Cayman S CR42 -Carerra GT -SLR -Bentley GT Speed -Koenigsegg CCXR -RS4 -IS-F/R -Hamann M5 -Lingenfelter Corvette -Viper SRT10 -TVRs (Typhon, Tuscan S, Sagaris) -Zonda R -Brabus TKR (to take over the hot Veyron!) The other day I plugged my iPhone in my car while waiting, turned up the volume and clicked Asphalt4- WOW!!!!! Oh and I noticed I drive even faster after playing it :S .. did anyone notice that about their driving? And I just wanted to point out that making the game more difficult (not reaching levels so quickly; or buying modifications for each car separately, rather than sharing identical modifications for every car and bike) would make the game even more challenging and better for us. This way we can play it more without getting bored too quickly. By the way: the DRIFTING is perfect, I use the steering wheel for everything and it works great. Thanks GAMELOFT!!
One of the best games for iPhone/iPod touch
This is a nice game, very complete and entertaining. I'm impressed.
Wi-Fi local multiplayer is a great feature and it's one the reasons why I purchased this application, but I could never finish a race or even get half-way through it. Someone would always get disconnected, it's just too unstable and full of glitches which would sometimes lead to crashes. But this can be fixed.
Talking about crashes, they've been quite rare recently. But they used to be frequent a few days after I installed the game on my iPod touch. Again, nothing that can't be fixed.
The graphics are good but nothing mind blowing, and the framerate is rather unsatisfactory. It's not very polished either, but that might just be because of the system's limitations, since they are still among the best graphics from a App Store game.
The controls are responsive and you have quite enough options of "customization."
The sound is passable, maybe too simple and repetitive. Also, Software 2.1 messed up with the sound of some applications, including this one (you'll notice when drifting). It's been weeks and it still needs to be fixed.
Overral, Asphalt 4 is a nice and fun game, a must-have for fans of racing games and it is definitelly worth the price (not considering that anything sold from or related to Apple is a complete rip-off. Just check out the price of the "new" In-ear Stereo Headphone).
I recommend this game.
