New App Is Better But
The new updated app is better than the old one but it still lacks basic features I find on my other financial apps. The instant balance is a nice feature but it is as many steps to get to as actually logging into the app with finger ID so I find it useless. When I forget to log out upon exit I then receive and error message when I go back into the app next time that I MUST click OK on to get past - I do not care that I exited out improperly the app did its job and timed out my session please just let me log back in. I have not compared to online but the new app tracks transactions different than the old app - I have transactions that are shown as completed only to log in a day or two later and they are back to pending and debit transactions seem to take 3-5 days to clear where in the past it was by the next day. Basically it’s the old app with a facelift and fingerprint ID log in added.
So now since the update a couple of weeks ago when I log out and wait for it to go back to the log in / instant balance screen and then close totally out of the app and then I go back in the next time it tells me that my session has timed out due to inactivity - what what? I LOGGED OUT PROPERLY!!
I was very critical of the earlier app refresh, but this version nailed it. I changed my rating from 2 to 5 stars. Everything I would expect in a modern app was included. Nice job!!
While it was great that the app finally incorporated touch ID login, it is crazy that it doesn't automatically pop up when the app is opened. To make the user click on a button to bring up touch ID seems like it was designed by a person that has never used touch ID. And what's up with the big clunky boxes on the "more" options? Just make them look more aesthetically appealing and fit them all in the screen. Better yet, put the log out button in the app so you don't have to go to a different screen to log out. Look at other apps and think about all of those buttons and where they should be and how they look.
I spent 22 years in Minneapolis having been from Southern California. When I moved there in 1990 I opened a checking account at the local bank on the West Bank, the Riverside Bank. Associated Bank eventually bought this small bank and I stayed with them. I moved back to California when I was ready to retire and kept my banking with Associated. They have always shown great customer service and I don’t feel like a number but rather a valued customer. I will continue to bank with them. I like their mid West values, great customer service and it is no problem living 2000 miles away. Keep up the great work you all do
