Asteroid Capture uses Newton's Laws of Universal Gravitation to simulate the motions of the Earth and an asteroid in 3D. Try to capture the asteroid in Earth orbit by adjusting its starting position and direction, initial velocity, and mass. Once set in motion, the movements of both bodies are the results of their interaction with each other. Whether the asteroid collides with the Earth, orbits the Earth, or flies off into space is determined by the initial conditions and the laws of physics.

To help get you started, some suggested scenarios are provided, including elliptic orbit, circular orbit, geostationary orbit, polar orbit, low Earth orbit, hyperbolic trajectory, and mass extinction event.

Cool. But just a few things..

When you are in 'Follow' mode on the asteroid you are actually hovering above it. I wish we could be centered or view from the surface to see what it would look like from the ground looking towards the sky from the asteroid. And also the distance and size of earth as you recede from it from even the added distance hovering above the asteroid is too small. Because the moon is some 380,000km above the earth. And the earth is much bigger as depicted from apollo photographs from the moon at this distance. But on this app, when you approach about 230,000km on the 'follow' mode facings towards earth. Is appears very small and then disappears. Please correct the earth size and make it to where i can at least see the earth from moon distance. Thanks you.
