Not flexible enough
This is an okay diary, but it lacks flexibility making the diary just an approximation. And you could have 'done that' without this app. Pencil and paper. Or even the regular notes app in your phone are better.
The medication is static. You choose the medicine and the dose and can only add that. But, some medicines like albuterol (ESP for kids) are given as both puffs and vials. Puffs for on the go and vials/nebulizer at home. Qvar comes in two strengths. You can't indicate this. There is no easy way to fill in your daily meds automatically. During a flare, you might change your dose. It isn't easy to do this.
The symptoms category is too vague. Other apps let you rate wheezing, chest tightness etc. on individual scales. I find myself either in the 'fine category' or 'wheezing' category. If you or a loved one was any worse than that you'd be off to the hospital already.
I bought this because of the reviews. It has not lived up to my expectation.
A great app! I used this to track changes in my condition when my HC insurer changed their formulary and stopped covering my regular asthma maintenance drugs and offered another. I compared the efficacy of both drugs for one month using the app and found the original drug worked better. The detailed report helped my physician convince the insurer of the medical necessity to continue covering the old drug.
Best asthma log ever
Love this app, having asthma you have to keep up with everything and this app allows you to keep record everything from your peak flow, meds, triggers etc. you can even email it to the Healthcare professional that is managing your asthma. The only thing that I have found is it will close automatically for no reason sometimes.
