Worst app ever!!!

I finally had my teens phone safe thru Apple’s security and smart limits. I was able to block numbers and know who my teen was talking to. Now I am forced to change to secure family from smart limits and I never received a text about changing the app, it just stopped working. I spent hours on the phone with many AT&T reps trying to get a straight answer about whether or not we could block numbers from my teen’s phone. They told me to download an app to block numbers I did that, but found out my teen can unblock the people I block so that was a waste of time. Then on another call the AT&T rep told me they were going to add the blocking feature this week to the app. Well that hasn’t happened. This new app does nothing different than the iPhone. I need the features of smart limits. I have also had issues with keeping the phones paired, I’m not sure if my teen can unpair the phone or not, but at this time I can’t even pair them. Although doesn’t matter because the iPhone does everything this new app does. Does anyone know if any of the other phone carriers have better parental controls because this is a deal breaker for me. Also I talked with 2 more reps and they were going to block a number from my teens phone. Well guess what, that never happened. This has been very frustrating!!!

Keeps telling me to subscribe

There are some major development issues with this app. My company actually develops apps professionally and this wasn’t done very well. We started by downloading the app, then we had to install it and sync it to the other phone that we were monitoring. That worked the first time, ever since then, every single time we try to log onto the app it tells us we need to subscribe to the service. We subscribe to the service (again) and then it tells us we have already subscribe doesn’t allow us to go any further. It makes us log out to re-log back in. So we follow the steps and logged out, log back in and the same error occurs telling us that we are already subscribed. So, we going to settings, enter our Apple ID and then to our subscriptions to cancel the subscription. After we cancel the subscription we attempt to sign in and sign up for the subscription again. Then it tells us we do not have permission to access the app. This is a giant circle that goes on and on and never ends. Horrible development, terrible user friendliness and absolutely not ready for public use. I would not even consider this ready for beta testing. At best, this was a teenager building an app in a basement on his mom and dad‘s laptop. AT&T should be ashamed of themselves.

Terrible Uodate - child can disable so what’s the point?

This ‘update ‘ makes me want to scream! We used AT&T Smart Limits for years to set an internet access schedule for our kids, and to turn off their cellular access on demand as needed. That’s it. That’s all we needed. Smart Limits was the only app on the market that did it, for AT&T users only, with no way for the kids to disable the functionality. Every other app I looked at requires pairing with the child’s device and the use of a profile or VPN that the child can easily disable. We were told that AT&T was discontinuing SmartLimits and we had to move to this app. So the first thing I discover is that in order to do what we used to be able to do, we have to add an app on our child’s phone and set up a VPN, both of which they can remove. Why????? Why did they take away the best feature of smart Limits - the child-proof ability to control your child’s phone? Companion apps and VPN’s are what makes every other parental control on the market garbage, including this one. It makes me wonder if AT&T has any parents on their product development team to give feedback.
