Improved, but Could Still be Better
The app has gotten some major improvements since the first version I used a couple years ago. But, it still needs some work. Sometimes there is an error that won't allow food to be added to your daily plan. Even if you try to re-search for it. The only way I have found around this is to add the food to your favorites, then go to your favorites to add to the meal plan.
The biggest flaw is being unable to manually add steps in the app. The app won't sync with Apple Watches and there is no option to manually add steps in the app. It only gives the option to sync a device. The only way to add steps manually is to get on the Atkins website, which is a huge hassle and defeats the purpose of having an app. It would be nice if the app would sync with an Apple Watch or add an option to manually add steps for those of us who don't use a Fitbit.
Followed plan to a T for five days, entering many favorite foods and was getting in the groove when one day, it would not respond, when I tried to sign in, app told me the e-mail and password were not valid. So I deleted app and now reinstalling. All of my info will be lost. Another problem is the scanner rarely works and search if the dumbest setup I have ever seen. (You'll have to see this to believe, but trust me). Some have said, quit complaining, it's free. I would pay them $5 to get their act together. This is a big company; why can't they do better than this? The more people using this app, means more people buying Atkins products.
Good app...others should stop complaining...
This app helps me keep track of my carb intake daily just as I need it to. People who are complaining about the food database, would you rather write it down instead?? I've learned the scanner only scans name brand items...of course it can't recognize store off brands. HELLO. If you have to manually enter a food, omg, it takes like a minute and then saves it next time you need to enter it. Wow, people are lazy. I love this app, and rely on it daily.
