What's New in Version 3.14
Ready for iOS 9.
Some UI work called for, but otherwise OK
The app works fine if what you want to do is just read the articles from top to bottom and back out to read the next. Or if you have a magazine sub and want to read the magazines in the app th works great too. But links in articles only work sometimes, and that really needs fixing. When they do work, the app should put you back where you were when closing out the link, instead of just putting you back at the top.
Fine magazine—in print. The thing that annoys me about the app is that it takes approximately forty-five seconds to return to my place of reading after exiting. In the absence of wifi, it often doesn’t load at all. Worse yet, the place it returns you to is not the one you last read. You’re instead dropped on an ad page, and you’re forced to flip (and flip) to find your previous spot. It’s such a source of aggravation that I’ve come to avoid reading it altogether. You can do better, Atlantic.
Clearly poorly tested. Also, architected without the user in mind. Dissatisfying experience, frustrating to use. For instances: coming back to an article brings you to the top, not where you left off; the pages feature, showing which articles have been read, is gone; iOS default allows tapping on a word to highlight it, which I use as a place marker, but that has been removed; rotating from portrait to landscape, then back to portrait confuses it, leaving landscape parameters in portrait mode and an obnoxious display.
