Description

Based on path-breaking research from Carnegie Mellon University, the Atlas Mission involves your child taking part in an epic learning adventure along with Atlas Finch, the traveling Robot!
See why parents LOVE the Atlas Mission...

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"As a teacher, I recommend the Atlas Mission to parents because with the Atlas Mission, kids learn without realizing that they are learning... because they have so much fun playing, giggling... and just having an amazing time learning. I also love how the Atlas Mission takes kids around the world when they don't have the opportunity to do so themselves.

When my own daughter played the game, she smiled, laughed, giggled... and wanted to play it again and again and again."

- Erin Goodwin, Elementary School Teacher, USA

"What sets the Atlas Mission apart from other apps is that it's got so many different elements - it's got travel, stories, games, education, teaching hundreds of different words, and it's got a big storyline from start to finish. Something [else] I love about the Atlas Mission is that it exposes kids very early on to different countries and cultures, and it does that in a fun and educational way."

She loves it!

Our four year old daughter loves this educational app. She would stay on it for hours if we let her, but we keep it to thirty minutes per day.

UPDATE: After reading my review the developer emailed me to let me know that the app has a timer option, see their comment below. So cool! How thoughtful of them to let me know. I like this company even more now.

"You can also use our Timeout feature to automatically timeout the Atlas Mission after 30 minutes. That way, you don't have to be the "bad guy" :-) - it's Atlas who will tell your daughter after 30 minutes that he needs to sleep and recharge his batteries. To use the Timeout feature, tap on the Edit icon under your daughter's profile and then set the Timeout slider to 30 minutes."

Great game, but too expensive!

My 3 year old loves this game, so when he came to the end of the trial I considered buying. I can’t justify paying $20 a month or $99 a year for a game that he plays a few times a month (we only use apps in doc offices, etc). If it was more affordable, then more people may be able to buy it. In addition, my son can’t even go back to other episodes to continue playing once he completed the trial. So now it’s useless. As of right now the app receives three stars because of affordability, but other than that it is a good game just be wary of the prices and the trial will not last long.

Developer Response

Hi Liz - thanks for your review. Glad that your son loved the Atlas Mission!

I totally understand what you are saying about the cost of the Atlas Mission being outside your budget. Just so you know, it costs tens of millions of dollars to develop a high-quality game like the Atlas Mission that is both highly engaging and educational.

Because of this, the only way for us to be able to continue working on making the Atlas Mission an even better game for your child in the future is by charging what we do.

Plus, we incur a lot of costs in supporting our social mission of giving free copies of the Atlas Mission to disadvantaged kids in developing countries, and once again, the only way to recover those costs is by charging what we do.

I hope you understand.

Great app, but subscription way too expensive

This app is really well made and engaged my 4 year old for a short period of time. I expected to pay around $5 (sometimes a little more, sometimes it’s less) for the full or premium version if I saw that my son liked it. I was shocked when after completing the initial free trial version to find the cost of the “subscription” to continue. I needed to subscribe for $20/mo or $99/year! Seriously?! What a shame that the subscription cost is exorbitant. The app gets 5 five stars and the subscription cost gets 0 for an average of 3 stars.

That's a lot more than what it costs to develop one of the cheap $5 apps you find on the app store.
