What's New in Version 2.14
Bug fixes and performance improvements
Let us sort my read status!
This is a great app, as far as it goes. I'm kind of surprised there haven't been more improvements in the app's capabilities, given how long it's been out there. My biggest disappointments are: 1) You can't sort your library by read or un-read status. When you have hundreds of titles in your library, it's very cumbersome to have to look through the whole thing to find an un-read title. 2) even after you've finished a book, the app doesn't reliably keep track of the fact that the book is finished. And...back to #1. 3) Syncing between listening devices (e.g. iPhone and Alexa) is unreliable. Sometimes the app knows my place, sometimes it doesn't. Can't quite figure out when each thing happens. 4) in that same vein, when I switch devices, the app will often tell me that I've reached a further point in the book on another device, and ask if I want to go there. I say yes, and the app doesn't go there. Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh!
30 Second Rewind REMOVED?!?
I can't believe you guys did it yet again. You removed one of my favorite features of audible for a second time.
When I'm listening to a book, I really enjoy hitting the 30 second rewind button when I want to hear something restated. Now, it's almost impossible to rewind to hear a statement reread, unless I return to the beginning of the chapter.
It was removed once before, but I was delighted that you restored it in a later version. I don't really understand why this feature has been removed, yet again.
Why are you forcing me to go back to the beginning of the chapter if I only want to re-read a paragraph?
When reading a print book, does a person actually go back to the beginning of the chapter when they want to re-read something that really spoke to them, or re-read the last couple of sentences because they were interrupted and missed a small portion?
The removal of this feature is completely illogical.
1.) Increase 45 second clip feature to 3-minutes. 45 seconds cuts off stories and is too short to encourage others to spend money or time to listen.
As a book listener, I want a 3 minute clip feature so that I can share a very small piece of a 16+ hour book that encourages a friend to purchase / listen.
Since I'm usually driving when listening it would be easier to edit the clip and share with a friend on your website (using a larger screen). Maybe a one step clip and email link to myself for slight adjustments.
2.) Automatically pause during *Google Maps* navigation voiceover to avoid missing dialogue just like it does with *Apple Maps*.
As a book listener I want the audiobook to automatically pause during the *Google Maps* navigation voiceover (like it does for *Apple Maps*) so that I don't have to constantly miss dialogue and (more importantly) be dangerously distracted and attempting to rewind while driving.
