Audioprom is an audio sequencer and live performance application for the iPad.
Audioprom was originally called Sausage Sequencer. The idea was to build a sound sequencer that uses slices of sausages placed on the iPad as physical markers to make sounds. After our first prototype we realized that sausages, or any other food item, is sensed reliably only when touching your hand. As soon as you let go of the sausage, the iPad thinks it's gone too. Our dream of chopping and placing food on the screen to make sounds ended there, but we were left with a decent audio sequencer. So we kept at it, trying to make an intuitive and simple interface that takes advantage of the multitouch screen. Sausage Sequencer turned into Audioprom, a sequencer for fingers on the iPad.

Please be patient when downloading this app. It's 85MB! Most of that are the hundreds of samples that we included with the app. Enjoy!
I was looking for a way to get back into music-making, and wanted a fun new way to do it. I bought this app soon after release, when there were no reviews or anything. It was kind of pricey (for an app), but I believed in the product as described and decided to support the developers in their endeavor to create "an intuitive and simple interface that takes advantage of the multitouch screen." Not just a sequencer pasted onto the iPad, Audioprom presents a really great way to engage with sound on a touchpad. The selection of samples and the control you have over them is not profound, but there is a lot of room for creativity nonetheless. We do need those longer session loops tho, or better yet: user-controlled session lengths.
I am looking forward to that version 2, and hope that the developers continue to support this product.
If you don't buy it for a buck, I so sad 4 u
intuitive tactile sequencing with world class
samples. a lot of fun, and I can see where you can get serious music out of it. match tempo and you can add serious flavor to other tracks.
see? I am hungry. all this sausage stuff.
the sausage guy is like just messing with you.
he is confident that sound geeks will find it,
and morons will go buy something that makes
one sound over and over again for twenty sausages...
This app is great if you like experimenting with music like me. It's a nice time killer and is user friendly. My advice: only get this if you are good with music and know how music works. If you're looking for something just to fool around with or something I suggest an app like magic piano which is also an awesome app. Some improvements I would put in an update:
-be able to create longer sessions than 4 measures
-more sound options
-more sessions available
-have piano keys as the pitch indicators when you are trying to choose the pitch, it'l just be easier if your trying to put in a riff or something
-be able to show 1 measure at a time on the big picture, so it's easier to see notes if there are a lot of them in a measure
Yeah so you're thinking about spending your Christmas money on this app, do it cuz it's a great app!!!
