- Please, save yourself a potential headache (and a dollar) and read the FAQs before you buy:

For example:
1. You can't change HDMI volume - that's a hardware limitation with HDMI itself
2. You can't plug in headphones and switch to internal speakers - that's a hardware limitation with your Mac
3. You can't output to wireless and non wireless and expect them to be in sync - that's partly software, partly hardware and partly physics.
4. If you've got multiple AirPlay devices Apple have removed the functionality to play them all at once or individually since OS X 10.9

Quick and easy control over AirPlay and other audio devices

AudioSwitcher is a menu bar that allows you to switch quickly between all available input and output devices.  In addition you can change the volume of any device without having to change your current input / output.

You can quickly change the sample rate or output to multiple devices at the same time.

Using the preferences screen you can choose to ignore certain devices, set a default start-up input or output device as well as it’s volume.

AudioSwitcher supports any device available to the system: AirPlay, USB, HDMI, Thunderbolt, Bluetooth etc.

AudioSwitcher is ideal if you have multiple sound devices attached to your Mac and want to be able to switch between them without having to use System Preferences.

It’s great for a home theatre set-up allowing selection of default devices (and their volumes) on start-up as well as allowing you to quickly route output to AirPlay devices in one click.

Exactly what I needed!

I have a very simple need. I have two Thunderbolt displays side-by-side. I wanted to be able to play audio through both displays AND be able to control the volume from the keyboard. AudioSwitcher had me configured and running in less than a minute. As an added benefit I can easily set the volume for each display. This allows me to compensate for the partial deafness in my right ear. I look forward to exploring the abundant options available. Well worth the $0.99!

Very useful, very flexible

This is a great audio switching utility that is well-supported and frequently updated. Highly recommended if you need a faster way of switching audio sources.

Does not allow headphone and internal speakers at same time.

I bought AudioSwitcher for one reason and it can’t do it. It does not allow headphone and internal speakers to play audio at same time.
