This app has been absolutely the best app I have ever used! I saw another guy taking notes in a conference. As a speaker and a singer, hearing and doing are very important to me. When I realized that I could take 'written' notes of what was most important to me and then not only see my notes but if they seemed incomplete or not clear enough I could play back and hear the message in it's entirety. The most awesome part of my first experience with the app was that the music that went along with the conference amplified what was being spoken on. I was able to not only take personal thoughts down that the music evoked but I was able to record it as well. As I counsel people from time to time I am able to record our sessions and it seems as though I am only taking limited notes. This way when I meet with them again I can glance quickly over my very important notes that I typed but if I need to go back and listen to our talks I can. Oh did I mention that I sing. I don't play an instrument so often when a tune pops into my head I have to put it down immediately. I pop open the app and hum or sing and if I feel like it I type in some lyrics... Then I can email it to a friend if I choose! I cannot think of any problems that I have had that were not operator error. Peace!
I wanted to love this app. I go to a lot of meetings, presentations and the like. My handwriting isn't great, and the faster I write the worse it gets. Really good presentations are usually so packed with information that I miss things being said while trying to take notes. Being able to type and record at the same time seemed ideal. This app may do the job but I cannot figure out how to get to its features when I want them.
What's possibly best about Apple products is their intuitive nature - you can figure out how to do things by asking yourself how should it work and it usually does. But getting from one Audiotorium function to the next is frustrating enough that I just downloaded a different note-taking app, SoundNote. I spent a considerable amount of time deciding between the two earlier and chose Audiotorium because it had more features. But features you can't find when you want them aren't worth much. I haven't yet used SoundNote at a meeting but I have played with it. It takes keyboarding, handwriting and records at the same time. I could make it do all those things within a minute after installing.
I gave Audiotorium 2 stars rather than 1 because it isn't a malfunctioning, buggy app and it might do everything they say it does, it just isn't a pleasant experience trying to get it to do them.
Crashing big time
Update to my earlier review: now the thing crashes when i hit the categories button. Guess I should have listened to my review and got something better earlier.
This thing is hard to navigate and stressful to use. It puts the first line you type under a real note as the subject of the note which looks just like the note itself. If you really use it a lot it would be easy to get used to, but after having this on my iPad for a week I only used it a few times to store password protected data, which I think the password thing is kinda cheesy also. A 4 digit number password is all it allows. I guess if they had a 'forgot your password button' anyone could use that to have the password sent to the unlocked iPad email account. So, I feel sort of secure, but not super secure using it. I guess security questions or having more security options might be nice.
