Great product but app is now worthless.
August released "enhanced auto lock" which solves a lot of minor issues people had in the past. The problem is it now relies on the app to be open for it to work. It doesn't need to be active on the display, but if you ever choose to quit the apps on your phone you'll be breaking auto unlock until you open the app again. Some of us quit our apps to keep memory open, some do it because they believe it helps battery (which it doesn't), but regardless, August should allow users to choose how they want auto unlock to work in detail with several granular settings. This is not a smart light. This is a lock, to our homes and businesses. The choice should lie within our hands. Some of you may read this and question the validity of the review since it's based solely on the auto unlock function but regardless, the rating is given due to the fact that changes are made to standard and core functions without user input / approval / or selectivity.
So far so good!
App is a little slow when it begs me to rate it. Hopefully it never does so again now that it has pestered me enough times to rate it.
The lock is great. We did replace our existing lock as the stem was not long enough, but the added mechanism here is very well designed!
New version is awful
Went from being able to fairly reliably unlock my door when I got close to home to practically never working. Keeps giving me messages about my phone being restarted and not being able to unlock the door because of that, even though my phone hasn't been restarted.
