Good idea but needs some fixes
I have been helping my in-laws set this up as they got this for a gift. I set it up on their iPad. It was disappointing that there is not an iPad version of the app only an iPhone sized one. I added photos from the iPad. If it is in landscape mode it will crop the portrait photos and vice versa. It would be nice to have the option to display the full photo without having it cropped.
I sent out invites to share photos to all the kids and grandkids emails through the app. No one received any emails. I thought it may be delayed due to Christmas Day volume. After digging on their website, it turns out that you must have the app to share photos. Fine but how is anyone supposed to know that? It would be nice if they would send out an email inviting you to download the app and join.
The motion sensor on the frame is inconsistent at best to swipe the photos.
Thank you for sharing feedback about your experience with Aura! Unfortunately, you aren't able to make the photo any smaller than what's displayed in the view finder (this is so we avoid showing black borders) however you can adjust in the photo in the opposite orientation or zoom in on the photo.
We totally agree about the app's usability on an iPad and hope to release an app optimized for tablets in the near future. As soon as it's available we'll let you know.
Regarding the email notifications, that’s a great point and we do typically send an email along with the app notification, however we had an issue with our email service provider which we’ve since resolved that caused a delay in sending emails. Your family should’ve received the emails at this point so please let us know if you still haven’t.

Love the frame but the app gives me a headache

I’ve had my frame going on two years and I love it. It’s exactly what I wanted to relive some of my favorite moments. Gifted it to two other people so far. BUT the app is pain in the...!!!
It takes forever to load. Crashes all the time. Photos I think I’ve added don’t actually get added and overall just cumbersome!
I give the frame a 5! (Would suggest various phot sequence modes ..that would be cool)
But the app...a 2 and continuously trying my patience!
Pretty good - could use shuffle and fix for adding multiple photos
Would be great to shuffle or re-arrange order of photos. Also, when adding multiple photos, after selecting the photos from the Choose Photos button, and clicking “Add Photos” at the bottom, the screen shows our frame to select, but after selecting, there is no “button” underneath to click “Add Photos” ... I can barely make out the outline-possibly a bug? iPhone 8 with iOS 11.2
Thanks for your feedback. Aura takes cues from its environment to decide which photos to display and the order of the photos. It should show ones you haven't seen recently, shuffling them a little bit each time. To keep the photos fresh - especially for those who send photos to loved ones who are far away - Aura will always display newly added photos first. We're constantly working to improve how Aura selects the best photos in the best order, so please don't hesitate to contact us about your experience.
Regarding adding photos - it sounds like there may be a bug or we could improve the UI so it's clearer that you are adding photos. I will pass this along to our Engineering team and we'll have a fix shortly! Thanks again for sharing your feedback.
