Dr. Gary Brown’s Autism/DTT Color App uses Discrete Trial Training (DTT) to help your child learn the basic colors. DTT is the primary teaching method used in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to teach numerous pre-academic and social skills to children with autism. This app can be used to help teach the colors to children with autism, attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), or any child who has trouble staying on task.
Children using this app will be able to learn the colors in Chinese, English, French, Norwegian or Spanish. Other language packs will be added soon! (Note, the startup and config screens of the app are currently in English only.)
Finding the right therapy for a child on the autism spectrum can be overwhelming. Only Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has years of scientific research proving its effectiveness and is recommended by The National Institute of Mental Health and the Surgeon General. But caregivers quickly learn that well-trained therapists in ABA are expensive and hard to find. During Dr. Brown’s forty years of clinical experience as a Licensed Psychologist he has tried to provide low-cost ABA resources for caregivers so they can do their own ABA. ABA and DTT increases your child's likelihood of being mainstreamed, increases happiness, and gives you hope.
This DTT App for teaching colors is fully automated and has been tested with children with autism at The Children's Treatment Center. This app is designed to be very simple with no distracting stimuli because children with autism (and other disorders) are easily distracted. This app is not designed to be a general purpose game, but rather a clinically tested training approach for children with a specific type of learning disability.

Ratings and Reviews
Please keep-up with the IOS updates!
I’ve used the DTT apps for a few years now and (for the most part) find them to be helpful when teaching basic concepts. However, the inability to keep the apps updated is irritating.
Currently, I can’t even open the apps, so I’m writing my 1st review, ever.

Not what I was expecting
I was hoping to have an easier time with the set up, and a little more flexibility with the settings. My child learns best when I don't have an error sound for incorrect responses and instead of a simple error sound this app makes a comment and then moves on- no reinforcing of the correct response- I have used free apps that are very simple to use and personalize that were free, so I was expecting more!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
