Feel ripped off

I had bought the older version of Sketchbook Pro (version 2.9.something) and didn't know they stopped updating and removed it from the AppStore because it's been a while since I had used it. Finding out how to upgrade was confusing, but figured that I'd risk it and buy the pro tools version again, and was considering a subscription. Turns out you loose tool features in this basic "updated" app and the only way to get them back, and additional tools and features, you have to buy a subscription of either $4.99/month or the yearly. I really feel like I wasted my money with this app. It would have been much better business/customer service if they had notified previous paying customers that the older version wasn't going to be updated anymore or supported, AND that customers previous purchases would be honored in the new app "upgrade". Interesting enough there's no contact email to ask about this. Sorry, I'm not opening up an account to send in a customer ticket. I shouldn't have to.

Best sketching app for iPad

I've tried multiple art apps since I got my first iPad a year and a half ago, and this is in general the best one. Other apps do certain, specific things better, but Sketchbook combines functionality, creativity, and intuition in ways that no other app does.

- The interface is very easy to use, not to mention customizable.
- Pretty good simulation of real-world materials; not the best ever, but pretty good. Plus some sharper digital tools as well.
- Great stylus responsiveness. I had an iPad mini and Wacom Intuos stylus for a while, and this was the best for those. Now that I've upgraded to an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, I STILL think it's the best as far as using the stylus goes.
- Lots of useful features in general.

- I'd like to be able to import different brush sets, like I can on the desktop version of Sketchbook Pro. The pro tools are nice, but not exhaustive.
- We still REALLY need unlimited layers (although thank you for at least upping the number to twelve from six).

Overall I can't recommend this app enough for artists; it's absolutely essential for me.

The app isn't too bad, I am able to move the canvas around so I don't have to move my phone. But I have multiple issues with drawing on this app. I can't change the smoothness of the tools for when my hands shake (or to make cleaner lines), the selection/transform is limited in editing (transform only allows change in the size of the selected part, it should include full change like in PaintTool Sai), there's high limitations to changing the tools and their properties. You also can't copy anything (i.e. Drawing an eye and then copying the shape to save time. Your process involves drawing an eye on its own layer, copying the layer, and then flipping. It's strenuous and the selection/transform settings prevent me from even adjusting the shape.)

I'm considering never using this app again. I regret buying it.
