Ratings and Reviews

Works great, and looks wonderful

I'm not sure what the other reviewers problems were. Maybe they're just in a rush all the time and don't have time to READ the discription. I read it and sure enough, it says you NEED TO PURCHASE A SUBSCRIPTION. I really don't understand how anyone would think that you'll get all the issues for free! Seriously?? So don't let the ratings fool you, because fools left low ratings. I downloaded the app, then downloaded the 1 free issue to view to make sure it looks good. Sure enough, it worked flawlessly. So I decided to sign up for a year subscription for $5. FIVE DOLLARS FOR A YEAR! You can't beat that for a great magzine. And what are with the complaints about signing up? I clicked a few buttons. There was never any spot to fill out my email address. It took a matter of seconds to sign up. If you enjoy reading Autoweek as much as I do, download this app and sign up for a subsciption. You won't regret it. It's just a shame that the reviews are dragged down because a majority of people can't read the description.

Great Mag/Improving App

WC Argus

If you love Autoweek this is a great app. Not only is the price unbeatable but the expanded content is pretty good for the most part. $4.99? It is a steal.

That said, I signed up knowing I was going to buy so I didn't see any of the "free" garbage which I hate too and is the reason for almost all the negative comments here. Listen, if you love a great automobile magazine $4.99 is worth the price 6 times over (which is normal paper subscription price). I have subscribed to this magazine since the 1980's. It is way better than its usual competitors: Car & Driver, Motor Trend, Road & Track. It comes every two weeks and the online edition arrives well before the hard copy.

My only real complaint is the app has always been quirky. I have had to reinstall many times when a new issue comes out (although not s much lately). Pixelmags has good support but why not just get the bugs out?

The print magazine plus more

This is exactly what I wanted - the Autoweek magazine I've always loved on my iPad, exactly how it looks in print, but with the bonus of extra pictures and video clips. All that and an annual subscription price of $4.99, a quarter of the price for an annual print subscription, and this one can't get crumpled in the mailbox!

I really don't understand all these 1-star reviews because you have to make the in-app purchase, are all these people really that unfamiliar with how content apps work (or really think all electronic content is free)? If you're an Autoweek reader you know what an incredible value an entire year of this magazine is for $4.99, don't let the 1-star reviews sway you. If we all go electronic and eliminate the printing costs, maybe Autoweek can go back to its old truly weekly publishing schedule! :)
