By uc2i, LLC
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Not only is this a bargain compared to printed reference material guides costing much more, this app is a MUCH easier way to search through thousands of names! You'll love it.
The must have reference for choosing the name for your baby - so intuitive, quick and easy to use! BabyNamer will search and display your potential baby names in a way that is meaningful to you. Simply enter your last and/or middle names, then search by gender and alphabetically to display a substantial list of possible baby names. Once you've settled on a potential name, click the Popularity button to see how popular it has been recently over the past 3 years and historically over of the past 128 years.
Nearly 7,500 illustrated popularity graphs included! You can also create a list of your favorite names to share with family and friends.
- Quickly search and sort the most popular baby names in the US from 1880 to 2008.
- Search by gender, then alphabetically.
- Shows you how each first name will look with your chosen middle and last names!
- Graphically illustrates the popularity of any given name recently over the past 3 years and historically over 128 years.
- Add names you like to your favorites list and email the list to friends and family.
Please note: This app is not intended to provide origin and meaning of name. Its purpose is to make the name selection process fun, simple and enjoyable based on recent and historic popularity of baby names in the US.
No Internet connection required.
This app is great, and is much easier to use/helpful than other apps of this kind. The only problem I seem to keep having is it will not let me delete names from my favorites. The app crashes every time. Deleting and redownloading, closing and reopening, and restarting the phone do not resolve issue. Honestly I would give this app a perfect score if only that one thing were resolved.
Serves its purpose
Decent for the price (free!). I love how it displays the name at the top in a script font!!! I don't like how I can't click on a favorite and have it show up in the script font. Instead, I have to go back to the library and find it again. Has a lot of good names. The email feature is handy, too!
It's a good idea
But incomplete. It's easier to find names first, by origin, meaning and popularity, and then put the first and middle names together according to how they all sound together. It would be great to be able to do a more complete search, including a middle name search and then stick them all together and save the WHOLE name in favorites. But you have to be able to seperate the girls from the boys in your favorites:). Then you would have a 5 star app!
