Get advice from a healthcare provider.
If you have questions about your pregnancy, your health, or your child’s health, consult a medical professional. BabyCenter offers general information, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Never disregard or put off seeking advice from your healthcare provider because of something you read in a BabyCenter app for iPad.

Great birthing class
This is my second child and I used this as a refresher course, but it is well done and comprehensive with all the extra links and videos. I think that this would be suitable for a first time mom too unless she wanted to really learn a more complex method like Bradley or Lamaze. It was helpful to be able to get the information I needed whenever I had time to take the course, and I could skip the parts I did not need. Overall a great app!
Issue with sound---easy fix from customer service!!
My original review was 1 star for the no sound problem, but after emailing customer svc I got an easy fix!! :
"Thank you for your question about our childbirth class app. With the iOS 4.2 upgrade, Apple changed what the Side Switch did by default from “Lock Rotation” to “Mute”. Your experience with muting on an iPad can still be confusing, because not all applications, like Music or Video Playback, are muted when Mute is engaged.
To un-mute your iPad, just move the Side Switch to the up position.
To Change the default behavior of your iPad’s Side Switch Button:
1. Click on Settings
2. Click on the General Button in the Left Nav
3. Scroll to the Area with the header “Use Side Switch to:”
4. Select “Lock Rotation”"
Videos load too slowly
All the lessons are video based but have no option to down, pad for offload viewing, or even to buffer them for uninterrupted viewing. I am currently in the middle of a five minute video that has taken me several hours to watch because it constantly stops and mist be restarted rather than buffering all the way through. This is an incredibly poorly designed app and I'm surprised anyone gets all the way through all the lessons.
