Ratings and Reviews
As a company that caters to the wants and needs of a community of nomads and adventure seekers, Backcountry has perfected the art of providing a broad selection of gear that any outdoorsmen would admire. The online and app interface makes it easy to quickly scroll through, filter, and find just about anything you would need to tackle any outdoor or recreational project! Truly the standard for companies that not only provide trustworthy and quality products but also actively engage in product use to give an even more thorough understanding of what WE use out there.
On to the but...I’m not sure why but try as I may, I can’t seem to get the fingerprint security password to work. I’ve been through my phone’s password settings and yet, I still have to enter my email & password manually to browse prospective gear. A tolerable inconvenience that’s reflective of a very small pebble that’s made it’s way into my boot..
Otherwise! Mad love to Backcountry!! Keep us wild guys 👌
One of my favorite companies ever.
These guys are doing it right. My boyfriend and I bought a water pump filter for our road trip extravaganza to America's national parks and the day we ordered it, someone called us to ask if we had any questions. They reassured us that out of the few we looked at, we made the right choice for our trip. We have spent the last 2 years since graduating college building up our gear arsenal for backpacking the Whites in NH and mountain biking and I am so greatful for backcountry's unbeatable costumer service. It's like being able to call that one friend who has genuine advice on personally tried and tested gear. I use the app all the time which has a friendly user interface and I love reading the articles like how to pick an new mountain bike and backpacking in exciting places. Like all of my friends, I'm proud to have a goat on all of my nalgenes.
Love it but for some bugs …
Speaking as a UX Designer who designs mobile apps … might disqualify me from reviewing, but here goes.
I usually search by brand. I noticed that when you look at a certain brand, and back out to the list of All Brands, the list returns to its default alpha sorting, with numeric-names brands at the top. So if I was looking at a brand that starts with the letter Q, and I want to see what brands come after, I have to thumb scroll from the top again.
Minor nuisance, I know. But I’ve noticed that some other retail apps will return you to your previous scroll position (look at Nordstrom, REI and Zappos).
Also, I do like the news feed. I noticed that a story posted summer 2017 remained at the top of the list for over a year. Perhaps this can be updated more frequently.
