Ratings and Reviews
This game is pretty good, but I have two problems with it: the computer is programmed to hit any of the opponent's open men, without regard to strategy. Second, when the computer Is ready to bear off, about 90% of the time when the computer rolls a one it leaves the man sitting is the one spot and moves a man further away closer to the one spot. These two flaws are biased to benefit the opponent; however, it is still a very good game and requires the opponent to use his/her strategic skills. I particularly like winning after the computer has put five of my men on the bar and I come back and win.
UPDATED REVIEW: they have changed the game and the computer will not always allow you to make moves you choose. I do not understand why. Example: I just rolled. 2 and 3. I bumped my opponent with the 2 and tried to move the same disk to a point with other men which would have made that disk safe. It did not allow that which left that disk vulnerable, and sure enough, it got bumped! TERRIBLE CHANGE TO THE GAME.
UPDATED REVIEW: I am enjoying the game more with the current updates.
...and it works. I love the environment, sound effects, manner of computer showing move available when touching a pip option, and the fast-pace. BUT... the computer wins 98% of the first rolls, and most all computer rolls are advantageous always to the computer. You can rest assured that if you ever leave a pip open, the computer WILL knock it off! PERIOD! The computer rolls doubles ad nauseum while I rarely receive any, and when I do.... it is when I’m trying to get a knocked off pip back into game play and the doubles I roll are for spots blocked in the computer’s home field. The computer makes “bad moves” and always gets away with it! In a live game with actual people and dice, the game would never be won making such strategically bad moves, but alas... the computer always WINS! I wish the game was more random in dice rolls and favored the computer LESS! I would give the app a 5+ stars rating otherwise. I’m giving it a 4 only for those things first mentioned. As far as satisfaction in game play, it is more of a 2!
This is the worst platform of Backgammon I have ever encountered, if you wish to be beaten 90% of the time try the hardest level against the computer, when you have played your dice, it is very easy to predict the computers moves, it almost always selects exactly what it needs almost perfectly 90% of the time, the algorithm is loaded, Adikus commented it’s just a game of random dice. No it is a very frustrating algorithm which removes the fairness and challenge of the game, to the point that playing backgammon with this Adikus platform becomes something to avoid, I no longer use this version, and use another version, as an advisory try any other platform, but to understand the comments while playing the computer at the hardest level, download it and try it, and after you have thrown your dice and made your move, observe what the computer requires, and almost always it will select the numbers required, of course selecting the easiest to medium levels does increase your percentages, but you will notice how miraculous at the hardest level the chances of winning are ridiculous bordering on insane, Russian roulette would be a fairer balance of play than this Adikus crap🤔💩💩💩💩
