Backyard monsters was (and still could be) the most addictive online strategy game in my opinion, with it's quirky but spooky creatures to the easy to pick up hard to put down gameplay. My only wishes for this title is for better user support and feedback.
Anyways, the App Store version of this game got me very excited, all of my friends who played the classic PC version of this eventually moved on to the over-hyped Clash Of Clans which is completely the same as Backyard monsters but due to it's ridiculous advertisements, the game received almost 3 times the amount of players. Even though Monsters:Unleashed was a little late up to the plate it still will be my favorite.
I recommend the Backyards monsters app on Facebook before this game, because for some reason most of the game mechanics were changed by Kixeye to mimic the abomination of Clash of Clans. Kixeye also forgot the NAMES of some of their original monsters, yup more mimicry. Otherwise if the game mechanics and monsters were the same as the base console's was, this review would have been a five stars.
On the up and up side, the gameplay is fun, and inviting, just make sure you got some time on your hands it takes a long time to produce resources, build or upgrade buildings, raise your champion monsters, hatch stronger monsters than the first few unlock ables, then this would be your game.
I was really excited when this came out because I play the PC version, but I was a little dissapointed when the game didn't retain certain things from the PC version. They modeled it too much after Clash of Clans, which was sort of based on back yard monsters in the first place. ?
I was kind if dissapointed they changed the names of the monsters and made practically all of them have ranged attacks. Overall it's still a pretty good game and I'm glad I can now play it on my phone.
Do Mushrooms give you shiny anymore or are they just there to annoy you, and why do they look different. And hopefully more Champions will be added soon.
I do love this game i always played it on the PC or FB its really addictive and i played every day until i got into battle pirates although in my opinion i think clash of clans is more addictive this game is supper fun and i was wondering about those champions i wanted thoes so bad now we can have them but......can u guys please give us more options for our chams?
