BADLAND is an award-winning atmospheric side-scrolling action adventure platformer set in a gorgeous forest full of various inhabitants, trees and flowers. Although the forest appears to be right out of a beautiful fairy tale, there’s something terribly wrong. The player controls one of the forest dwellers to find out what’s going on, and discovers an astonishing number of imaginative traps and obstacles on the way.
BADLAND takes side-scrollers to the next level with its innovative physics-based gameplay combined with stunning, atmospheric graphics and audio.
BADLAND also features a highly original local multiplayer mode for up to four players on the same device, where the name of the game is survival of the fittest with no rules. It’s totally OK to push your rivals in front of spinning circular saws to survive. Or, if that's too rough for you, you can also cooperate with your friends and play the modified single player campaign with up to four players.

The perfect mobile game
It is amazing what Badland is able to accomplish with such simple elements. Badland is the most complete mobile game I have ever played. It draws aspects from several other games to bring to life something utterly singular. It's style feels very similar to Limbo, and has the slight reminiscence to Outland with silhouettes on the foreground and with another world in the back. The dystopian feel gives the game character and depth as you fly through its world and it makes the horrid sight of your clones being shredded by saws feel like that is part of the reality that these creatures exist in. The most amazing part of the game is how much the level design and gameplay mechanics can fit the controls. Like Flappy bird there are only two controls: touch the screen to go up and let go to go down. The amount of freedom these controls give you is astonishing, and that is all thanks to the level design. The use of power ups, or rather modifiers, makes for incredibly varied situations and the number of ways that this game puts all of its elements together to make complex and continuously original puzzles and high octane platforming sections is the true brilliance in this game. This game may not be an endless score attack that many people look for in a puzzle game, but in terms of a game that uses all the potential of its medium this maybe one of the greatest games I have seen in over a decade. Buy this game!
Highly overrated game
Gets boring and irritating pretty quickly. The entire game is very gimmicky and passing a level is contingent upon luck on a first pass through, or from experience after dying from all of the stupid traps.
The only reason I am giving this game 2 stars instead of 1 is because the multiplayer feature is actually kind of nice. Racing a family member to the end while hearing their exasperations from getting stuck can be hilarious. That says something about this game though. The only enjoyment I get from it is watching other people suffer through it. I guess that says something about me too haha... I can be a bit sadistic. But who isn't at least a little sadistc?!
edit: I honestly can't believe that this is on the "15 Most Beautiful Games" list. The background wallpaper of this game scroller is kind of pretty to look at, but you'd be hard pressed to appreciate it while you are trying to avoid the mindless traps that get you killed in the game.
This game is hands down one of the visually better and most awful games I've ever played. The point of this game is to tap and fly a furry meatball like creature through a visually stunning forest. Thats it. There is nothing imaginative, puzzling, creative or interesting about this game. I try not to download too many editors choice games bc they are almost always a disappointment and never live up to the hype of reviews. I should have trusted my better judgement. Gameplay is single handedly the most atrociously dull I've ever played on an app. I would rather play easy bake oven over and over then torment myself with this game any further. Visually it's great and that is the only positive thing I can say. You are better off downloading some wallpaper app than wasting your time with this game. Thanks editors choice for duping me into buying another useless app once again.
