Good but can use some Enhancement
Overall the app is easy to use, however some enhancements I'd like to suggest:
-Ability to update a Request: Some times I will submit a request and then something happens where I need to add more info or cancel it. I do this now by submitting a new request, but I'm sure it would be easier for the city if I could simply update or cancel it.
-Respond to or Re-open a Request: In some cases, the city closes a Request as they may need more info, or they Close it without resolving the issue. Being able to re-open a Closed request would be helpful here.
-City Response Clarity: When the city closes a Request, often the status they provide is not readable. It looks like this app integrates to other city systems and simply receives this status info and shares it - but it's not easy to understand - for example, "FQ-BEGIN - Don't Know - FQ-END" - this is not very helpful for me.
-Other feedback that seems common among reviewers: Ability to manually enter an address (even if there needs to be a geofence to limit invalid or prank requests), Add the remaining 311 request types that are missing), Eliminate the need for constant location services.
The app is not integrated properly with the city's 311 service and the city's workers are not competent enough to figure out certain things. On numerous occasions, relating to various categories of complaints, I have reported a problem, seen the status move to CLOSED, even though the issue was clearly not resolved, called 311 and been told that I didn't report under the correct category. Most recently I reported that several commercial properties had failed to clear their public sidewalks of snow and ice. I submitted the report under the sub-header "snow/icy conditions" under the miscellaneous header. I was told that a plow had driven by and the roads were deemed to have been cleared. I didn't understand where the mixup had happened, considering. I was then told I had filed under the wrong category, even though no other category is fitting. I was then told the correct category number to file under. The operator seemed to not even know that a category number is not how the app works. She had no clue that the app is structured as headers and sub-headers. Smh.
Slow to load, frequently fails to submit.
Very finicky, can take a long time to load and get to the point where you can take a photo (30 seconds or more). May because of slow or inundated server, a frequent error (after entering a 311 ticket and hitting submit) is "unable to connect to server". Very frustrating. Good concept, poor execution. Good luck Baltimore if this is the best IT available to the city.
We need the 311 app. Best thing I've found is to periodically delete and reinstall. This disconnects you from waiting for the secret to update requests from months prior. The preloading of updated requests seems to be the app killer. Especially if the server is busy it can perma hang while your standing in the middle of the street trying to file a report.
