Don't forget your rural fans
I love this app. I am, as one reviewer put- obsessed. Only thing I would change about it is available mileage range. I realize this isn't a problem for most people but let me speak for the rural minority.
I live in BFE, New Mexico (AKA, Deming) I love punk rock. I am willing to travel 2-300 miles for a good show. Bandsintown only lets me see music within a 150 mile radius. So, I have to reset my setting four times every time I use the app. First I see shows between Deming and El Paso, then I see shows between Deming and Albuquerque, then I see shows between Deming and Tuscon, then I have to extend it again to see the Phoenix shows.
Again, I realize this is a first world problem for a very small demographic. But, because this is a globally used app, I think the programmers should consider it. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be in places like Canada.
Would it be so hard to allow users to look at a larger distance radius?
Game changing App for the music lover
I'm a professional photographer and specialize in environmental portraits of musicians and characters. As I travel frequently all over the country, Bandsintown has become an indispensable tool. After years of shooting shows at large venues I'm always on the look out for more intimate performances. Bandsintown has kept me updated on small house parties and shows near me whenever the journey finds me. It's allowed me to set aside the industry and my work while on the road and to return to my roots as a music lover.
I like this app and always have it on whatever new phone I get. Works well. Only thing that I really hate...
I keep my email notifications on because I check my emails a lot more opposed to checking the app for events. When I'm interested in an artist I press "I'm interested" and it takes me to safari to look at the info instead of the app! And if I click open in the app from the safari page, it never takes me to the artist and event I was looking at!!! Please fix this. Thank you!
