Loads of Glitches, Needs to be Fixed
I’m a loyal BOFI customer and have come to enjoy a high level of customer satisfaction from their products and services. With this new app rollout, however, my experience has been far from stellar. The app takes several moments to load basic account details or fails to do so altogether. Further, I am unable to edit any account details, be it login credentials, account verification, or payee details. Because changes I am lucky enough to make don’t always register, I hesitate to think of using the app to make a transfer or send a payment for fear of the transactions not being processed.
I understand the bank recently rolled over to a new universal digital bank and likely has many tweaks to work through and bugs to fix. That’s to be expected. However, until I see the app function as it should, my review will stay the same.
Also, one small nit on displaying my account information: please don’t display my overdraft line of credit as my available balance. If I only have a certain amount of money in the account, please don’t show me the balance inclusive of my line of credit as if that is my actual cash balance in the account. It’s very deceiving.
BofI has a perfectly good app before they changed over to this garbage. It looks relatively the same as far as the interface goes, but it’s glitchy. I rely on scheduled transfers and payments, and I’m finding this app is not reliable. So far only 50% success with this functionality. Some scheduled transfers work, others don’t. When I try to schedule a credit card payment in the future, I’m only able to do that for the current available balance, even if the payment is a month out and I will have the money in my account. Also it’s hard to tell when payments would go out. I used to select a date and that’s the day the payment made it to my cc company. Now you select a date then are advised the payment won’t get there until 5 days later, not counting non-business days. So it’s a guessing game as far as when the payment will actually be made. Seriously considering switching banks. Don’t roll out an app until full functionality has been tested. This is costing me money in late fees. You are an internet bank, and when this is all you have make sure it’s done right.
New app is aweful
The new app is awful! Buggy, slow, smaller font size for what matters most...the numbers! I just opened to pay bills and find that it will not allow for a future payment (after payday) because the balance does not show enough money. Simply awful. Experience is so bad, thinking about switching banks after 10 years with BOI.
I have taken the last two updates and have deleted/reloaded the banking app. I don’t see any progress. Dashboard loads on occasion and always takes dozens of seconds. I usually switch to account tab which loads quicker and is ultimately more useful. I find no value in the dashboard layout and believe the ‘account graph’ is not useful. The font size and layout across the entire app is a step back in time and still confused why BOI / AXOSS would switch to clearly inferior app software. There are so many easy to use banking apps which I also use. Feel free to call me to share my personal experience

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for your inconvenience and we are working to address the issues that you've brought up. For the Bill Pay available balance issue, this was an oversight on our part and will be addressed. In the meantime, if you use the website (either mobile browser or full site), this validation is not there as you will be able to make your future dated payments.
