Taught me everything I know
Excellent resource, and taking photos of my handiwork is pretty fun to see. I've had this app for almost two years and I've learned a lot.
Another review mentioned the videos taking up space, but I watch them all the time; the rosetta/heart ones are great reminders to watch while my machine is building up steam.
Overpriced for almost no content
This app does not give you detailed instructions on how to make each drink different. All of the instructions are the exact same. The recipe for the latte, cappuccino, and flat white are literally identical. They are not the same drink.
The information is not all correct. For example it says a cappuccino should have no milk foam and you shouldn't froth the milk. Anyone who knows what a cappuccino is knows this is false.
The app is a good idea, but it really has no variety, and it does not have very many types of coffee. The videos are not helpful, much of the information is wrong, and this is certainly not the barista guide to end all barista guides. Not by a long shot
Just keep your 3 bucks and stick to free content online. It is much more helpful and much more accurate than what you'll find here.
You get what you pay for.
I thought they had a lot of varieties for coffee and expresso but I thought the app lacked of more videos. It would have been nice to see detailed videos rather then one 2-minute video and two 10-second videos (although helpful) but I loved the HD though. I do recommend this app for quick learning and tools for what it takes to become a fine barista.
