Items listed are not in the stores listed
I just downloaded this app as I have been looking for an app where I could find specific prices for NON SALE ITEMS. I have a very restricted diet for medical reasons and only can eat very few brands of packaged items—packaged meaning anything that isn’t produce or meat i.e. everything. Along with that often stores don’t carry the full line and every flavor or type of and item so finding out if a store has that item is a HUGE deal for me. Most weeks I buy the exact same foods so I’m well aware which stores carry what within a 20 or so mile radius from me. Many items and brands listed to be at a store are not, so this is tool is extremely inaccurate. I’m not sure how or where they obtain the information as even when you go on these stores websites the items and brands are not available/ not listed. So there is no option to buy these items no matter where you live from this vendor. This is extremely odd overall and hope to get a reply back from Basket.
This app is a BIG help when trying to save money on grocery shopping. Easy to see what store has the overall lowest price for one shopping trip, but also makes it easy to see what stores have each product cheaper, if you like to shop a couple different stores.
And if you ever can’t find a product listed, you can do a quick scan of an item barcode while shopping, so it shows up the next time you need the price. Every now and then there a few inaccuracies in prices, but 95% of the time it has been spot on.
UI is pretty decent. It takes a little bit getting used to. There is no tutorial. Essentially, make your list first, then after you have your list complete select “Compare prices.” It will automatically select the grocery store with the cheapest total cost. Exactly what I was looking for.
I will compare prices when I go shopping to ensure they’re accurate. Keep in mind, prices are crowdsourced. The more people that use the app, the more accurate prices become.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
