Open the Mac App Store to buy and download apps.
Shows the remaining battery time and percentage in the menu bar.
This is especially useful on macOS Sierra 10.12.2 or later where clicking the battery icon no longer shows the remaining time.
You can hide the system battery icon by dragging the icon out of the menu bar while pressing the Command key. You can also reorder menu bar icons by dragging them around while pressing the Command key (Sierra only). That means you can place Battery Indicator exactly where the system battery icon used to live.
Requires a MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air.
What's New in Version 1.2.0
- By popular request, the battery icon is now smaller!
- When charging, the "time until fully charged" is shown in the menu.
- You can now quit Battery Indicator by dragging it out of the menu bar while pressing the Command key.
Minimal and it works great. Instead of displaying a filled bar, it displays the time remaining. The macOS built-in battery indicator only shows the time remaining if you click on the battery icon, whereas this shows it in the icon itself, whenever you are running on battery. For some reason I find this creates less battery anxiety than the ever-shrinking bar.
If you prefer to see the percentage instead, you can choose that. As with time remaining, it shows the percentage within the battery icon, saving space. Again, this is better than the macOS standard battery indicator, which shows the percentage next to the icon.
I bought this app because my 2011 MacBook Pro has an innacurate battery indicator, I thought this would be more accurate but it just displays the same information as the default battery indicator. Don’t really see a point to having this app. If you have the new MacBook Pro that does not offer the Battery Indicator or Percentage, there is a free way to get those indicators on your laptop. Just go on youtube and search for videos on battery indicators.
