If the world as you knew it was destroyed, how far would you go to get it back?
The Cylons have returned to the Twelve Colonies after a forty-year absence. Bent on revenge, they unleash nuclear weapons powerful enough to destroy human civilization... and nearly succeed. The only survivors of the Cylon assault are a ragtag fleet of civilian ships and the last remaining Colonial Battlestar: Galactica.
As Commander of Galactica, you must lead the civilian fleet through uncharted space in search of a new home, while defending it from relentless Cylon attacks. These machines never sleep; letting your guard down for even a moment will cause not only your downfall, but also that of the entire human race.
In Battlestar Galactica: Squadrons™, you will:
- BATTLE waves of Cylons intent on your destruction.
- CONSTRUCT a wide variety of Colonial combat ships from blueprints found on Galactica.
- TRANSFORM your ships into high-performance fighting machines with scavenged technology.
- ESCAPE an overwhelming Cylon onslaught by executing a faster-than-light JUMP!
- DEFEND the civilian population that depends on you for protection.
- And above all, SURVIVE long enough to continue the search for planet Earth, humanity's new home.

Good if you know what you're getting
It's not some space sim like we all hoped for. It's only great because of the multitudes of ships to choose from, you don't really have to spend money to play the game, and it hits on tons of battlestar galactica lore. If you loved the show as much as me, I watched it 8 times through, you will probably like this game.
Edit: after a certain point (about episode 7 or 8) the enemies become so hard that it's almost impossible to beat them. This is because even grinding off and on all day for weeks, it's still almost impossible to level your ships up passed 4 star. It costs an insane amount of parts to upgrade any ship passed that level. So basically I will continue to grind, and see how long it actually takes to level just one ship up that high, and then decide if this game is worth playing passed those episodes. It's a great free to play game until that point. After then, the only way to play the game without being destroyed every time is to buy $50 card packs, and spend $5-$50 on cubits to make sure you can actually repair your ships when they do die.
Cool, but too difficult and pricey
This is a well designed game, with great graphics, diverse gameplay and entertaining features, only trouble is it is too difficult. I'm sure it is because they want you to spend money buying upgrades, but I neither have the lack of intelligence nor the disposable income to waste such unbelievable amounts of money on a phone game. I've been stuck on the same level for like two weeks, getting the lame fleet pack every four hours (or eight, cause I'm not interrupting my sleep for that) and recycling ships to try and upgrade. Still no avail. How about a fair and attainable level of difficulty, with some enticing achievement rewards, instead of putting more effort into developing the purchases than into the number of levels to keep players playing long enough to get the ads to make you money. Like so many other games, nay, like every other game for phones or tablets, it's a pyramid scheme, with a really small pyramid.
Frak, this game is good!
WAY more entertaining, Ludia, than another film / TV-inspired game you developed.
Have some of the same observations as others — ways to identify / organize ships by class / role / superiority to other classes (Alpha beats Beta, or is it Gamma, or who's Omicron / who's he beat again / does it mean anything that an opponent is charcoal and purple and I'm chrome and purple with a little charcoal / who the heck are all my fighters again / why do I have like 3 Defense ships [was I a dope and did I recycle them all?]).
But who cares, because it's a real test of your memory (and guts) to go after a complement of attackers with what you got — and if you lose, so what, try another combination, or back up, get stronger, fight another day!
(PS — Do the admiral and the president get their freak on in this version?)
