BattleZ is the very first multiplayer first-person-shooting game for Cardboard VR. In this game, players team up with their friends to defend their homes in a world overrun by zombies, however, players can also turn their backs on each other to score bonus powers. We don’t want to give away all the details…... but watch out for the dragons!

Fun but could be so much more
Imagine a single map of a creepy village about the size of a city block being overrun by zombies, giant zombies, and monsters, and you have BattleZ VR. The game offers various options for control. I couldn't get the RealControl 2 to work on any app on my iPhone 6s, not just this game, but the gaze-to-shoot worked wonderfully and kept me playing. It's fun when another player enters the map, but that's few between in my experience. I did have one game where there were a ton of people all playing at once, and it was a ton of fun, but there was no way to communicate with the other players. Where this game shines the most is with the online multiplayer but that's also where it falls short. The main menu is just a title screen with a couple of settings like player name, and a big enter button. You have no control over what game you are going into, and whether there will be other people playing or not. If there is nobody else playing, I've noticed I have to play for a good 5-10 minutes alone before another player shows up... If another player shows up. When another player shows up, so do more zombies. And when there are a ton of players the zombie numbers are just insane. I just wish this game was more than a go button that dropped me into a random game. In my opinion, this game is more of a demo of what online multiplayer looks like in VR, as opposed to an actual online multiplayer game.
Most Addictive VR I've Played
I've had google cardboard for a while a while now and While I love it, most apps I tend to get sick of after a few days. /This/ game however is always fun because you can literally move around the world by walking and jumping and I can play with my friends or strangers who are real people and therefore not predictable. I can't express what a difference it makes for a game to be able to register your movements beyond just te turns of your head. My only complaint would be that sometimes my trigger won't be picked up, try as I might, and I end up dead as I'm trying to shoot back. Such a great game though. Really gives a glimpse of what VR games could be. A++ would recommend.
Great game, but could be even better
First off, this is an entertaining game. I'm glad it offers gaze view as well as realtrigger, because my realtrigger can either fire like an AK-47, or fail to read at all. The game is absolutely playable via gaze (how I usually play), and the only downside is you fire slower. I haven't figured out how, but sometimes I randomly jump hundreds of feet off the map, which is frustrating after a good run of zombie kills. Also, PLEASE TURN OFF PLAYER KILLING. In most games where I end up with another player or two, they ultimately just fire at other players instead of zombies. The one map gameplay is a bit repetitive, but the challenge stays consistent. Absolutely worth a download.
