Ratings and Reviews
Love this app, so much better than official eBay app
If you follow a ton of saved searches, do yourself a favor and give BayWatch a try.
The saved searched are easily configured in a single screen that has the most important options when you buy often (local only, price range, excluded word filter, etc.), and it informs you within minutes of new listings.
You can then either delete found items so you don’t have to review over and over again, or watch them.
While the app could use some more visual polish I found it very stable and working great; already found a bunch of great deals with newly listed items.
The monthly fees for are definitely worth it if you are more than an occasional eBay buyer or if you’re looking for a great deal for a specific item that’s normally pricey.
I have written in to the developer and they were responsive and friendly. Hope some features in the future include iCloud sync so you can browse the same stuff on multiple devices as well as small tweaks to the UI, like a “delete all” for search results.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a nice and objective review. I will be looking at your ideas for a future version of BayWatch. As for the polish, hopefully I can address that too in the next major update that I have planned. Thanks once again.
Has its moments..
🔻It randomly deletes my search items and I have to retype them.
🔻The watch list with subscription is still 15 mins behind. Sometimes item on eBay sells but BayWatch was too slow to see it.
🔻 Switching between “Ending Soon” and “Newly Listed” will show items that have ended an sometimes out of order. Like it’s looking at time posted and not the countdown timer.
🔻Adding May ignore words in searches makes the search so crazy stuff. A list with one word removed will remove items that do not even have that word in the listing. Broken.
🔻Hard to keep track of what I’m currently looking at (which item list did I open??)
🔻Photos are low quality. Moving over to eBay app photos are HD.
🔹Interface is easy
🔹Super easy to switch through a saved list of items to look for your search words (faster than eBay App)
🔹Good for items in Niche markets, not popular items.
Developer Response ,
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review for BayWatch. I am glad that you find the interface easy to use, that you find the app makes it easier and faster than the eBay app to switch through lists, and that you find it good for finding items in Niche markets. Taking your concerns:
I have never seen the app randomly delete search items. Indeed, the only way to delete searches is to swipe them or via the edit screen. If you are seeing such an issue, please do reach out to me via the contact option on the settings screen, letting me know the circumstances leading to this, and also referring to this review, and I will be sure to look into it for you.
The watch list with subscription does indeed discover new items within 15 minutes, as described right in the subscription section before you subscribe. Whilst I would like to make this faster, eBay do not have a 'push' function, so all discovery has to be done via 'pulls', which is why this exists.
Switching between Ending Soon and and Newly Listed still pulls new items in as they are listed. I will look into the ordering to see if there is an issue with the ending soonest order.
Adding many ignore words in searches comes down to 2 factors, firstly managing the words in accordance with eBay formatting (see here:https://www.progressconcepts.com/help/baywatch/#ffs-tabbed-18) or alternatively that the number of keywords is simply overloading eBay's limits. Unfortunately, BayWatch is limited by what the eBay API will allow me to do.
As for which list you are currently looking at, I have made a note of this, and will consider the options for a future version.
Finally, on the subject of photos, the photos are the photos provided by the eBay API links, and thus should be the same images. If you are seeing the images load in a blurry fashion, I would suggest that it is worth hard rebooting your device (see here:https://www.progressconcepts.com/help/forcerestart).
As I say, I am more than happy to discuss your concerns and assist you. Please do reach out via the contact option in the app. Thanks again.
Lacking search filters
Good idea and fast app but what would have made the app more powerful in the browsing section is the ability to have more of ebay's search filters such as 'lowest price+shipping' filter to find lowest price listings and the ability to search completed listings such as 'completed' and 'completed+sold' listings in order to compare pricing history to current asking prices. Currently can only switch between best match, new listings, and ending soonest. Not ideal for all situations. Add lowest price+shipping and completed filters and app will be instant 5 star rating.
Developer Response ,
Hi. Thank you for leaving a review. I very much like your ideas for lowest price+shipping filters and will consider these for a future update to BayWatch. As for completed filters, I shall have to think about this, as it is not really in line with the app's purpose of alerting around new items as they are listed. Please do feel free to reach out with suggestions via the contact option in the app, as I am always open to ideas for new features. Thanks.
