Meet BB-8™ - your very own app-enabled Astromech Droid.

Over the years, the experience of Star Wars™ has always lived on screen and in our imaginations. The characters, worlds, and adventures have become an unforgettable part of our lives, and toys have kept that magic in our hearts long after we’ve left the theater. Thanks to advancements in technology, it is now possible to bring a new part of Star Wars: The Force Awakens™ into your home in an incredibly authentic way. For the first time, a real Droid™ is finally making its way into your world.

BB-8 is playful, personable, and true to the Star Wars™ galaxy. His unique traits begin to shine the second he is awake. Based on your interactions, BB-8 will show a range of expressions and even perk up when you give voice commands. It’s now possible to explore the galaxy with your own trusty Astromech Droid by your side. BB-8 is more than a toy - it’s your companion.

Rather than using the Force, BB-8 is powered by induction charging and connects via Bluetooth© Smart with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. His tough polycarbonate shell keeps him safe from water and the dark side.

Features include:

Slide your finger on the driving pad to guide your Droid. BB-8 will go wherever you point and hold, and he’ll even react to collisions. If you want to see more of his personality, enter the droid commander, choose an icon, and BB-8 will show off a range of expressions.

Tap into Patrol to send BB-8 off on his own. His autonomous behavior allows him to move around, get familiar with your space, and investigate the surroundings. Tap the play button to get BB-8 on the move.

The Watch With Me feature allows your Droid to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens with you. Select this option when BB-8 is in his charging base, start the movie, and watch his reactions along with the film.

Draw & Drive lets you trace a route with your finger in the app for BB-8 to follow in real life.

No Droid is complete without holographic messaging. Now you can make your own thanks to BB-8. Record a video and BB-8 will transform it into a virtual hologram.

This is the Droid you’re looking for. Find it at and make it yours.

What's New in Version 1.2.1

• Idle animations allow BB-8 to move and animate while he sits in his charger.

Way over exaggerated!!!

I am a Star Wars fan and a gadget geek. I am very disappointed in this device. It has great potential, but seems to lack a few fundamental functions of a remote device. I'm 47 and had remote toys that recognized walls and drop offs. Tech that is 30 years old is not even included in this thing. The explore function is ridicules. (Think Roomba Vacuum logic next time) The voice command and force band can't even use a simple "come here" function. The force band is glitchy, not to mention it could use a bit of thought in western sizing, rather than Asian. Band is too small for my wrist. The app is cool, but I think the BB-8 itself would be nice if it beeped and whistled rather than my phone and the force band. As with a few others, I feel it could use a bit more emotional reactions. Come on folks, furby's and tomogachie's had more interaction. There is so much tech out there today that was not put into this high dollar item, and I feel cheated and am very disappointed. I also feel folks way, way over rated this item, or you're too simple minded to know any better. I think you folks would be mesmerized with a blinking paddle ball that had Star Wars written on it. Could also be the developers posting to push up the ratings. You folks had the opportunity to create something amazing, and had the tech to do it, but as usual came up utterly short.

Don't waist money

Limitations of this toy are to numerous to mention , will be bored with it under an hour. No fine controls, voice commands are about 4 total and completely useless to boot. Do yourself a favor get your kid a nice remote control car instead least they will have fun with it. Patrol features are useless unless you like watch a ball bump into a wall for an hour. Even the drive it yourself is honestly to clunky and phone dependant to be fun after five minutes also. witch leaves watching the movie with him, I say movie because it's just the one,and honestly the novelty of that wore off before u had even watched it once, reactions aren't allways in time with film again phone dependant. And he mostly just sits there. Steer clear , or don't open and return is my advice

BB-8! Love him!

First off, let me say that I am NOT a Star Wars fan whatsoever. But, I will say that I'm really in love with this little guy! Only two complaints at this point- (I just got him).
One: Haven't even had him 24 hours and I've already somehow broken/lost one of his little antennae. Not very sturdy, that bit. Otherwise, it seems very well made.
Two: It really does need more voice commands.
Oh, I guess there's a third thing. Another reviewer mentioned about hair and dust getting stuck in BB-8's head wheels. Well, I'm SURE I will have a problem with that, as I have cats. It looks like you "might" be able to take it apart, but at over a hundred bucks, I'M sure not gonna try it first!
Overall, really pleased with this gift. My husband rocks! Love BB-8, too! Hopefully, the app developer will read the reviews and work on adding more voice commands.
