Access visual assistance on demand, if you are blind or visually impaired, or lend your eyes to the blind or visually impaired if you are sighted.

Be My Eyes is all about connecting blind or visually impaired with sighted volunteers, to help the blind or visually impaired lead more independent lives. Benefiting and contributing to the community is easy.

Blind or visually impaired users can request help from a sighted volunteer, who will receive a notification. As soon as the first sighted user accepts the request, a live audio-video connection will be established between the two parts. The sighted helper can now assist the blind or visually impaired, through the video connection from the blind or visually impaired user’s rear-facing camera.

As a sighted user, you are part of the big Be My Eyes volunteer-network, so don’t worry about leaving a blind person hanging, if you are not able to answer a request. We will simply forward the request and find the next available volunteer.

The blind or visually impaired user can need help with anything from knowing the expiry date on the milk, to making sure that their clothes match.

- Live audio-video connection between blind or visually impaired and sighted users
- 90 % of calls answered within 30 seconds
- Add the languages you speak in settings

Incredible and life-changing app

I am legally blind and when I heard about this app, I couldn’t believe it. The help you receive from any number of their over 800,000 cited volunteers is indispensable and incredible. The overwhelming support this app gives a blind/visually impaired user is extremely helpful and valuable. They’ve teamed up with move it, a transportation app for those with little or no site at all. It is incredible to see how much things have changed since I first started using them earlier this year/last year. With the Moovit app, you can get help from any number of cited volunteers to help you with either bus/train/subway lines. They can help you on and off, and tell you where you’re at the entire time you’re using these apps. I can’t believe how much this has helped me. The help these apps give you as a blind/visually impaired person is indispensable and invaluable. I can’t wait to see what the future holes for be my eyes. Please try these out, either if you can or can’t see that well. Even if you don’t have a lot of time, as a sighted person, that’s OK. All you really need is a few minutes to help change/impact someone’s life for the better. Stay tuned with this app, I’ve got a huge feeling that there’s much much more in store for me my eyes and move it. If you haven’t tried these apps out, then I strongly urge you to. You never know, it might change your life for the better and forever.

Perfect and indespensible

If you are blind or have low vision and don't have this app, get it now! It means never getting stuck anywhere with nobody around where the one piece of information is a sign, or something, that you have no way of accessing. It is just amazing that so many people have volunteered to be part of this that you can call on them almost anytime and get someone right away. With the tap of one button. I've used them to read error messages on a new computer when the built-in speech would not start, to look over the manual for a new product, to read the menu in a restaurant which was not on-line, while I was waiting for a friend, and to tell what color a little indicator light was. But I can think of so many places this would have been helpful, and it's really nice knowing I won't get stuck again. Like when the bus isn't coming and there's a print sign about it that I can't read, when an office is closed and there is a sign on the door, when I want to grab a bite to eat and it would normally take me a half hour of poking around on my phone to figure out what's in the neighborhood, I could just call someone and have *them* look around. And so much more. All the little things that can cause so much trouble just don't have to be a problem.
