I love this app and many in the Lolo line. It provides a great workout and motivation. However, I do not understand why the app cannot run in the background!! Especially when biking, I have another app that I like to keep open as my bike computer. The other app tells me my speed, cadence, distance, and heart rate. Why can't I listen to the prompts from the Lolo app while viewing my metrics and performance from another app??? Obnoxious.
Excellent if you don't seek perfection and want to save $thousands
I've been exercising on a stationary bike for a numberof years and realized I had grown complacent. In seeking remidies I found this app and am so glad I did. It takes me through a nice interval trainiung there I work up a noticable sweat. I get to stretch mysel without risking my health. After a few weeks the programs are still quite varied and the voice coaching is very helpful, particularly the count-downs that tell me I'll be pusing for 60 seconds, 45, 30 etc.
I use it wih a Wahoo heart rate monitor synced to the MotiFIT heart rate app which prvides nice heart rate displays. I keep the MotoFIT open during the session and the BeatBurn runs in the background with the voice coaching and music. These are a nice combination.
The app is not technically perfect but for the price and cosnidering my real goal in a good workout vs. app Nirvana, it's a fine solution for me. Some of the quirks I've run into include the music beat. Doesn't seem always be consistant with my iTunnes music but that's ok. The app says it's synced to the heart rate monitor but it doesn't seem to affect the display. I asked the developer about it (who is very responsive). The center display is supposed to toogle with a tap but it doesn't seem to. That's ok because I use the MotoFIT app.
What's that about saving thousands? I briefly looked into a Peleton and choked at the cost. Then I found this app that gives me a more than adequate workout. Maybe if I were in serious training and/or competition somethink like the Peleton woul be worthwhile. But I'm not. At 74 I just want a good workout for the time I spend. The BeatBurner does the trick while makeing the time go by nicely.
