Ratings and Reviews
Aesthetic & intuitive, but not practical
Let me start off by noting that in traditional fashion, B&O have designed an app that is both aesthetic and intuitive. I never realized how drastically the EQ settings alter the sound until I sat down with this app and started playing around with it. Furthermore, it is incredibly easy to use and just about anybody could figure it out.
My real issue with the app stems from the fact that it only actively adjusts your EQ if the app is open on your phone. Most of the time that I’m using my B&O headphones, I’m on the go or utilizing my phone for work (resulting in me closing the app). This aspect of the app makes it very impractical and I find that I don’t use the it nearly as much as I would otherwise.
Hopefully B&O updates the app in order to make it work whether you’re inside or outside of the app.
App requires reinstall with every use & earbud tips assume ear canal is a straight shot
App requires reinstall with every use & earbud tips assume ear canal is a straight shot & don’t stay snug enough to maintain quality of sound. Sound gets more tinny as the seal loosens, which doesn’t require a sweaty workout. Sitting quietly on a plane will do it. They need to fit more deeply. I’ve purchased several aftermarket styles & options of earbud tips. The only off the shelf ones that seal & hold to maintain sound quality are the cone (pine tree) shaped ones. The other option is buying custom fit pro one. These “truly wireless” seem a little to beta version for the $300 price tag. I’ve spent @ least another $80 on aftermarket off the shelf. Bottom line- I’m using the adapter that came w/iPhone X my tried & true Shure wired earbuds & the b&os are in a drawer @ home. My first pair of b&os are sadly my last. And I’m out $300😠
So I have been wearing the BEO PODS for just over three months. During which time I’ve had to dump, then re-install the app approximately to 15 times (at least twice a week)! For headphones that sound so good... what happened?!?! Why and what went so wrong or so bad that I can’t even get a good consistent connection? I have an iPhone 8+ and it seems to work fine for about a day or two (at most) but soon as the battery gets low, you have to dump the app, file and everything; forget the device and then back to square 1... Reload everything from the beginning as a new set. I expected better from a company so good.
Now I’m stuck with a crappy set of headphones I love to listen to but hate to wear!!!! I guess that’s what happens when you rush to market and rush a product.
What a Black eye for the brand and their reliability!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
