The most powerful tool for place information and ratings anywhere on the web or via mobile app!
The BestPlaces mobile app gives you comprehensive place ratings for all 217,000 block groups across the United States– pinpoint information down to the detail of a few city blocks. Using mobile device geolocation for a level of accuracy and insight that is not available via desktop computer or laptop, this is the most detailed U.S. place info available – more complete than the BestPlaces.net website and any of our competitors.
The free version of the app lets you access data for the exact location in the United States you are currently standing or driving. The paid version unlocks the full app functionality and lets you search and save locations anywhere in the United States.
On a 1-10 scale, see scores for Livability, Affordability, Economy, Culture, and Weather. Includes median housing prices, restaurants, climate and comfort rankings including sunny and rainy days, unemployment rates, median income, average life expectancy and health quality, crime risk, commute times, education scores, air quality and cancer risk, cost of living scores, and much more.
Minor bug fixes, including some iPhone X display issues.

Sperling’s Best Neighborhoods
I’m a big fan of Sperling’s Best Places, and am excited to have a Best Places App at all, but I think this app is that it’s over-specialized.
It’s geared to tell you about your immediate surroundings, not about a city in general. If I search for Savannah, Georgia, I get information about Tremont Park (one of its neighborhoods), and a list of other neighborhoods in Savannah, but not about Savannah as a whole.
This emphasis on neighborhoods within the city makes the app a good complement to the website, but also makes the app a fundamentally different experience than the website.
If the app is going to focus on neighborhoods, I think it would be a good idea to give the user the option to compare the neighborhood to the rest of the city, as well as comparing the city to the state and national averages.
I had a few issues with this app at the beginning. I will have to say the developers do respond within a few days. Gives you as much information as I think you would need to make an informed decision regarding moving.
Disappointed. Not worth $2.99!
I feel swindled. The website is free and does a much better job but more importantly, information is wrong. We are relocating to a completely new area out of state so I thought this app could help. I was wrong. I have lived in many places around the country and checked those out first. I am so glad I did! The info is off base in different ways. I will stick to using the free version of Niche and unless I get my money back won’t even bother with Sperling’s website anymore.
