Thumbs up, getting better...

There have been many improvements. Moving in the right direction, but here are a couple more:

Copy/paste + Reference: the mobile version is actually better at this than the mac version. In the mobile version, you can select multiple verses. In this app, it only seems that you can copy and paste one at a time. Also, the reference and version citation is at the end of the verse in this app (which I do not prefer), but it’s at the beginning of the verse in the iPad app, which i do prefer. Perhaps an option for where the reference/version citation appears could be useful. Also recommend adding the ability to be able to copy more than one verse at time.

Syncing Progress indicator: As I’m composing notes for a sermon/lesson, I like to sync frequently to ensure I don’t lose my work. The inability to see the sync progress on the mac version of this app has actually cost me some notes. I typed I long sermon into the notes, and then hit the sync button. A few minutes later, i synced my iPad, but the mac app wasn’t finished syncing yet, so it actually synced to the ipad version that i had, which was not nearly complete. On the ipad, I can watch it start and stop syncing. But on the mac, I tell it to sync, and I have no clue if it’s syncing, or when it’s done. I recommend adding a visible sync progress indicator so that a user can know when all of their info is finished syncing.

almost 5 starts!!

I have been investing in Logos for years, but primarily bought Olive Tree for the NA28 Greek Text with Mounce Parsing, which works great! My only qualm, and the only reason for the 4 stars rather than five, is that the Analytical Lexicon to the Greek New Testament (which is incredible) does not come with the introduction. It just starts at the α entries. And the parsing codes do not expand, neither on a labtop or mobile device. So there is no way to know the parsing codes… This is a pretty major issue for me. I believe other similar resources are missing introductions. This is like using a product that can be quite complicated without the owners manual. This is something that should be remedied as soon as possible. Then I would give this program 6 stars, because it really is great. Logos and Accordance are their biggest competitors, but I have some stuff from all three, because they offer slightly different features and content. Olive Tree is a wonderful product that is worthy of serious consideration for bible study aids. We live in an age where study is dramatically different than the giants of the past had to get things done, and it is exciting. Olive Tree is on the front lines of innovative technology that helps disciples learn fast and effectively and easily! Take a leap and see the greatness available to you!

the one I like best

I’ve tried several different apps for bible reading, and for reading in general. This is my favorite. Two things I particularly like are the ‘notes’ section, where I keep a list of favorite texts I want to work on memorizing, and also can take notes from sermons, etc. When you enter a scripture reference in the notes, it becomes a hot-link to the verse. That is NICE. I also like the ‘scrolling’ as you read. I don’t know, but I believe you can toggle between ‘blog style’ (where you scroll down to read more than what is already on the screen) ‘page style’ (where you have to clck or swipe to move to the next page of type) I have it set on blog style because that is what I like best. I wish the kindle reader apps would add this feature. I would much rather scroll than turn pages. I’m glad that this reader has the scrolling option. Sorry that I do not know if the page option is available or not, I believe it is. In general, this app seems to be all about making it easier and making it fit the needs of the reader, so I’m betting that you can switch it, somewhere.
