The holiday drinks have already been launched for the season and yet it is not in the featured items menu on the app. It still shows pumpkin spice. There are a few of the holiday drinks in the lattes menu, but not all so I have to resort to the website when ordering the holiday drinks. The food menu should also be on the app. Also, there should be more descriptions on the drinks like how many ounces for each size and the number of espresso shots in each size. While Biggby’s has been earning more of my business lately because of their deals, coupons and larger variety of flavors, I will say that Starbucks app is higher tech, much more informative, easy to use and their mobile order feature is hands down still one of their best advantages of using their app.

This app is in dire need of a modern update. The app isn’t even programmed to fit a larger screen.... Comparing it to the Starbucks app (which is probably the biggest competitor), youd think Biggby was inferior (which it isn’t).
Aside from the dated graphic design, the app is hard to navigate, its busy, parts of it are in low resolution or unaligned due to the screen formatting issues, and you can’t add funds to your card from the app itself. You have to do this from a browser, and that website for rewards itself looks like it was from 2010 (still has the og Instagram logo.)
What this really needs is a massive update to its design that streamlines the app. In terms of marketing, the app doesn’t really entice me to want to go to their stores, so I think an updated app would allow for a push to newer/younger consumers. Integration with Apple Pay and Apple Wallet would also help, because if you had the biggby card in your wallet it would be so much easier to pay (plus it would notify when close to a biggby so more business). An e-tipping function would also be great since a lot of your stores don’t allow tips on credit cards.
Finally, making the order ahead directly from your app and pick up in store. A lot of other coffee places/restaurants have had this ability in their apps for a while, so take some tips from those.

One of the biggest successes of Starbucks and their popularity is the deals combined with the loyalty program. The most frustrating thing to about this app (besides faulty payment options) is how little the app tries to help boost their deals in combination with their loyalty program. Why is it I can't get points for a normal priced drink on Free Shot Friday? Why is it I have to pick and choose savings and the ability to work towards my free drink. With only a 12 point loyalty program, Biggby holds an independent coffee shop spirit while being a franchise. However, if they wanted to solidify themselves as a real contender for Starbucks (and even Dunkin for that matter, whose coffee pales in comparison to both Starbucks and Biggby but is beloved for their cheap pricing) I genuinely believe they need to rework how they go about their loyalty program and rewards system. I want to root for Biggby, but with a constantly full stand of the owners supposed secrets to success in stores and the frustration of getting a deal and still not getting another virtual stamp on my Biggby card, it's getting harder and harder.
