"A premium title with quick pick up and play action perfect for its platform, and should absolutely not be missed." - thecurrentgamer.com
"A deceptively-intense game with a lot of personality, fluid controls and a thought-provoking soundtrack. It’s a successful, innovative “retro-infused” modern take on a well-defined, often-finicky genre. At only .99, Bit Pilot is well worth your allowance"
-148Apps - 4 out of 5 stars
"There’s a lot to love here; from the fluid controls to the speedy gameplay it feels like Squareball just met Space Miner. We heartily recommend this one."
"If you have enjoyed Canabalt's fast paced, heart pumping action, Bit Pilot will fit right into your collection of games
on the iPhone ... Take a deep breath, sit back, relax, thumbs on the screen and
enjoy. Bit Pilot is absolutely fantastic!"
Bit Pilot was created by Zach Gage (SpellTower, Halcyon, Unify, SynthPond)
and has music by the prolific chiptune artist Sabrepulse.
Bit Pilot uses an intuitive and unique control scheme unlike anything you've tried before. Each thumb swipe on the screen adds the force of that swipe to your ship.
Control with one thumb for small motions, and use two at once in the same direction for quick movements, or two in different directions for precision. Its difficult to explain, but extremely intuitive and precise once you try it. Check out the videos on bitpilotgame.com.
After you get good, the next time you try a dual stick shooter on your xbox, you'll wish you were using a touch controller.

Bit Pilot is an awesome space survival game about being a spaceship that is just trying to survive a constant storm of meteors. The controls are pretty good: they are very precise and help maintain the ships speed. They are not Bit Pilots pride and joy, though. The gameplay is. It will leave you stressed yet amazed and simply starstruck when you die. Different types of meteors make gameplay feel fresh, and the temptation of picking up pills that regenerate shields will either kill you or save you. Bit Pilot is missing an awful lot, though. Gameplay starts feeling repetitive in an annoying kind of way after a while. My request is more power ups: possibly one that lets you shoot asteroids. Maybe one that makes you temporary invincible. And maybe a trick one that kills all your shields, just to spice things up. It would also be nice to have different game modes. Maybe a gunner mode where your ship is continuously firing, or a panic mode where your workspace constantly gets bigger and smaller. Anything that could make the game feel more alive would be nice. I actually planned on giving this three stars, but I simply couldn't. Bit Pilot is too genuine even for the four star rating im giving it.
Amazing and classic
This game is one of the best I've played on the iPhone. The gameplay is challenging and varied, the music and presentation are awesome, and the controls just plain work and work well. What really sets it apart, though, is that the developers obviously have an intimate awareness of the platform, and how to use it best (and what to avoid). It's just good solid fun that was clearly made for this platform, and I love that. The challenge matches the aesthetic, too, in that it looks and feels like those old challenge-first classics. I keep coming back to it, and it's been installed on my phone for years. Five stars, and hats off.
Been my favorite for a while... there's a bug though
Love this game. Fast paced, challenging, and hilarious death sentences. But as of late the blue shield pills won't tack on the 250 points to my score anymore. And since I consider my "rank in the universe" score to be a determinant of my quality of life, this absence of points is really getting to me. Whatever the development team can do to fix this bug would be immensely appreciated.
