*** Application Description *** Tools is an easy-to-use utility that lets you create short URLs with your iPhone using the or service, and then copy these links to the clipboard so you can use them in other iPhone applications. Once you’ve created your short link and pressed the button to put it on the clipboard, you can launch another application, click anywhere you can enter text and select Paste—it’s that simple.

Additionally you can track the click statistics for URLs you create directly in the application. There is also a URL lookup tool, so you can enter in a or link and see who created it and what the long site URL is that it points to.

You can also enter your user name and developer key so that links you create on your device show up on the site when you log in!

AutoShorten feature: If you go into the Settings screen and turn this on, the Tools application will look on the clipboard when it launches, and if it finds a valid URL already on the clipboard, it will automatically shorten it and place it on the clipboard at the same time so it is immediately ready for use.

To find out what your API KEY is for your account (again, these are not the same thing), go to this URL: -- You need to be signed in to see your API key.

After you sign in and go to the URL above, your API Key is displayed, and that plus your User Name (not your password) is what you need to enter into the Tools application.

As always, if you have ANY PROBLEMS, please e-mail us at

Currently the service doesn’t enable third-parties to determine the links you’ve created on their site and pull in tracking data. Therefore you can only track links in the application that were created with the application. is working on providing a way to provide this data and when it is available we will update the application to show all of your link tracking statistics, whether they were created online, or on your device.

Customer Reviews

Other reviewers are right - crashes on the first try

Decided to give the developer benefit of the doubt. My bad. Install and startup went smoothly. Shortened my first URL and the app quit abruptly. Until the developer decides to address this, stay away.

Total ripoff

This worked for a week then crashed and never worked again. Tried to email them but the address was bogus. Avoid.

Crashes Every Time

Wish I'd read the reviews. Infuriating that this is still an available app. Worse that they're charging for it. Tools
