Fun old school gameplay

I've played through the first of the three included worlds as of writing this review. I find it to be a very fun game to play when I have 5-10 minutes to kill.

It is a platformer of sorts. The difference from a traditional platformer like Mario Brothers is that your character automatically and continuously runs to the right at a constant speed. The skill in playing then is identifying obstacles quickly as he comes upon them, and performing the correct action to avoid the obstacle or destroy it. The different actions you take make various sounds, and the obstacles come along in a pattern which allows you to create "music" as you avoid them.

I should mention that the game is relatively hard, and any mistake sends you to the begining of a level. I think the younger generation isn't as used to this sort of "punishment", and it may (understandably) be a turn off. It does mean that when you finish a level though, its very satisfying, since you know you finished it without any (heinous) mistakes.

Bit trip runner!

This game is great! Super easy to get sucked in and lose track of time while playing. Yes some levels are frustratingly hard, but so what? If I am going to pay for a game I want to spend some time and be challenged by it! Great job Gaijin!

Fun for a little while. The difficulty should begin on easy because even when it is on normal, it's extremely challenging. I also think there should be some kind of health system because levels get longer and harder to beat, making some of them near impossible. Overall in the end, just a frustrating game. :(
